4 ★4 year user.Well they've finally got changed the course pictures or maps to when they were lush and beautiful, green reading is neat. I do love this app for knowing my distances. Just hate that there's ads when I pay for a subscription. Guess cuz I'm not a diamond sub. I thought 49 a year was enough now paying 50+I believe and I'm not sure how to use my watch so my review could possibly change based on that and I may just find a different app that is compatible. Just wish they didn't update it.
3 ★App has worked great while I'm on the course, though the insights/notes are slow to load at times. Been having a lot of issues saving my rounds this year which is very frustrating. I shouldn't have to attempt to save my round 30 times over a half hour and still have no success. Last round I waited a couple hours and it eventually saved, but frustrating when you want to review your performance while the round is fresh.
5 ★It's easy to use. Nice yardage to the cup display. It takes a small amount of time to settle on the distance but it only varies by a few yards. I find adding a player easy once they are in your database. It sometimes jumps to the hole scoring too quick while other times its slow. But why not wait to the next tee to enter your score. It also has a nice history featurr. I don't like it only showing my total puts and not the other players at rounds end. Also email doesn't show total puts.
4 ★Overall I like this app and use it every round. I question the accuracy of some features like "wind speed" or "plays like". But I find it very accurate on distance and has matched up very well with course provided GPS systems. I also like how it keeps my handicap and gives me some analysis I can use to improve. Highly suggest this one and plan to keep it ad long as I golf.
4 ★Track and save score and putts for each hole. Satellite view shows distance to center green. Touch screen to calc other distances. Auto calculates handicap. Stats for GIR score, number birdies/pars/etc, avg score for each par type (3, 4, 5). Must pay more to track penalties etc. Rotate phone during round shows total score, but bug requires close and reopen app to go back to normal use, so I lock screen. 175 rounds so far. Will now pay $24/year to track club distance, penalties, etc and track more stats.
2 ★Uses about 25% more battery than other apps I have used. Also, other free apps allow you to record whether your drive is in the fairway. This one does not give you percentage of fairways hit or percentage of greens in regulation. Used it the day of your last update. It now uses even more of my phone's battery! Wasn't sure I would finish my round before my phone died. Other apps I've used would require no more than 30% of battery usage, now ir is using almost 80%. You sure didn't improve it!
5 ★i love this app for the score card and GPS... I have been using this for 2 years now and waited to rate it. I appreciate an actual Google maps picture so i can plan around the real course. Cartoon GPS apps don't give the same luxury. Worth upgrading for extra info. it's crazy how much an app like this helps you... far less guessing means better scores in my book. highly recommend
1 ★Used to be good when it was SwingxSwing (instead of the swing u branding), uninstalling as there are too many ads/popups. I just want a simple app to keep my score, and tell me distance to the hole. This app has just become buggy. I had attempted to use it at the course the other day, and it couldn't even detect where I was. And before you say it, yes permission for location/GPS was enabled. Just not worth the aggravation in my opinion.
5 ★I really like this app. It has good course views and does a good job of recognizing when I've completed a hole and then asks to enter my score. It yardage is accurate and provides the information I need. It makes it easy to determine yardage to traps, trees, edge of the fairway on a dogleg, etc. I've used it for years now. It is easy to use and I haven't found the need to look for another app.
5 ★Had this app for years and loved it. However, after the latest update, it stopped working for playing rounds. It wants to upgrade to a premium service. Sent feedback for the non loading of the course to be played, but nothing. Too bad all I can get is everything, BUT gps to play! Update; Uninstalled this app and tried a couple of other gps golf apps (total junk) went back and reinstalled the swing by swing app, and eureka, It works like before! (Even better). Only downside, lost previous rounds
2 ★GPS and map were good, but I had major problems with the scoring. The app keeps reducing my score by one stroke. If I say I scored a 4, it rolls back to a 3, so I had to record a +1 over what I scored. Unfortunately, if I were to open that hole again, the score drops one again so I would have to fix it again.
1 ★Been a premium user for approximately 2 years now, but ever since the most recent update, my app randomly locks me out of elevation and "plays like" distances in the middle of rounds. I then get an advertisement to try Swingu Pro for 7 days free. I shouldn't need to do this as the press release stated that Premium accounts have become pro accounts. I should have access to everything I did before. The new version is very buggy and it also does not seem like a way to treat recurring customers.
