Does the right craft beer make better beer battered fish?For most of us, the question probably wouldn’t come up. But when you’re completely committed to the freshness and quality of the food you serve, it’s an obvious one to ask.
3 Daughters founder Mike Harting posed this question to chef Ty Weaver in an effort to improve on a beer battered fish recipe. Ty’s answer was yes. The next question was, “Can we brew great beer?” Ty's answer again was yes. After brewing beers aptly labeled “ToBe”, which translates into whatever Ty wanted them To Be, they quickly found that craft beer is a hot commodity and became close to 30% of beer sales.

Our story begins in 1888, in Lexington Kentucky when Wilhelm Harting co-founded the Liugart & Harting brewery with the dream to brew great beer. 150 years later, that legacy is remembered by a brick inlaid in the 3DB bar. It reminds us to live up to the proud tradition started in Kentucky by creating a warm environment where friends, family, retailers and consumers can enjoy the best craft beer has to offer.
At 3DB, our goal is to create bold, innovative and amazing beer. We believe that craft brewing creates a unique style of beer and each brew has distinguishing characteristics and a great story to tell. Whether you tip a pint of our highly drinkable Beach Blonde Ale or our limited reserve Bourbon Barrel Aged Porter, we hope you’ll savor the diverse flavors and aromas that drive our beers.
