Description
This Android app is a Google Maps application displaying historical markers where they can be found. The marker description is also displayed, along with the ability to view additional marker details on the HMdb.org web site.This application also features a touring option which "speaks" the description of the marker nearest your location.
One can also search for a marker by its title, and then locate this marker on the map.
The application is packaged with a handful of states' data; additional states and countries can be loaded by the user.
As the online database expands, so does the ability to display the new marker data on the app. Now there are World markers available for display. And an RSS feed automatically adds recent online additions. You can even add your own marker data in GPX data format.
A recent feature helps you organize your favorite markers: the Passport. Using the Passport you can add your favorite markers and associate your own photos and notes with these markers.
And use Lists to organize markers which most interest you and to filter the display on the map.
