In de noordrand van Schiedam zijn de laatste jaren meerdere kunstwerken geplaatst.Een groot deel daarvan op verzoek van, en in samenwerking met, bewoners.
Ondertussen is er een mooie collectie opgebouwd. Volgens ons hebben maar weinig mensen dat door. Je wordt zo gezegd, telkens verrast. Een mooi beeld. Hier?
Om bewoners en bezoekers optimaal te laten genieten van de mooie collectie is toen het idee opgevat om een aantrekkelijke app te maken. Die app kan je autonoom gebruiken, maar je wordt er ook naar verwezen als je ‘toevallig’ op een werk stuit. Dan geeft de app aan dat er nog meer werken in de directe omgeving zijn te bezoeken. Daarmee ontstaat dan een soort beeldenroute door de noordrand van Schiedam.
Waarom alleen de noordrand? Schiedammers komen sowieso niet vaak in de noordrand. Het zijn typische woonwijken. Die dus leuker blijken te zijn dan waarschijnlijk verwacht.
Dus: Aandacht voor de werken is sowieso goed. En aandacht voor de noordrand van Schiedam is ook goed.
