Ziel des Projektes TACNET 4.0 mit dem Titel „Hochzuverlässige und echtzeitfähige 5G Vernetzung für Industrie 4.0“ ist die Entwicklung eines einheitlichen industriellen 5G-Kommunikationssystems, das fortgeschrittene Kommunikationslösungen für den Anwendungsfall Industrie 4.0 nutzbar macht. Anspruch ist es, Mobilfunknetze der fünften Generation durchgängig in industrielle Kommunikationsnetze zu integrieren.Hierzu gilt es unterschiedliche Forschungsfragen zu lösen wie zum Beispiel: Wie können zahllose Maschinen, Roboter und andere IT-Systeme auf begrenztem Raum ausfallsicher, mit hohen Datenraten und ohne Verzögerung drahtlos kommunizieren? Wie können Bestandssysteme migriert werden? Ein wichtiger Aspekt ist dabei das Management des Netzwerks. Dieses dient unter anderem der Initiierung und Aufrechterhaltung vieler gleichzeitiger Funkverbindungen. Es muss in der Lage sein, schnell auf Änderungen zu reagieren und im Hintergrund selbsttätig komplexe Konfigurationen der Funkzugangsknoten vorzunehmen. Im Projekt werden zudem Verfahren erforscht, wie Steuer- und Managementfunktionalitäten in die Cloud ausgelagert werden können. Automatisierungssysteme kommunizieren mit dieser in Echtzeit. So können beispielsweise Instandhaltungsprozesse von Maschinen und Anlagen bedarfsgerechter und vorausschauender gestaltet werden.
