تميز تطبيق سهل يهدف إلى إثارة التنافس العلمي في مجال النشاط المدرسي اللاصفي من خلال استمارة خاصة لكل مدرسة تسمى استمارة التميز العلمي ويتطلب إعداد تلك الاستمارة إدخال كافة المدارس المشاركة في المنافسة للمراحل الثلاث ( الابتدائية و المتوسطة والثانوية ) بالإضافة إلى مسميات ( المسابقات أو المشروعات أو الدورات التدريبية ) المقرر تنفيذها خلال العام الدراسي واعتماد درجات محتسبة لكل برنامج بحيث درجة معينة للمشاركة ودرجة محتسبة أخرى لنتيجة ( مسابقة أو تقييم مشروع منفذ أو حضور دورة تدريبية للمعلم أو الطالب ) كما يسجل في التطبيق حالة البرنامج ( نفذ , موعد التنفيذ , في انتظار الاعتماد ) , يمتلك المشرف على التطبيق صلاحيات متعددة : إضافة او حذف مدرسة , إضافة أو حذف برنامج , تعديل في الدرجات المحتسبة لكل برنامج , إدخال أو حذف أو تعديل درجة المدرسة .طريقة استفادة المستخدم ( المعلم أو الطالب أو ولي الأمر ) من التطبيق تتلخص في البداية بأن يتم تحميل التطبيق وبعد الضغط على الأيقونة يظهر على الشاشة ( المملكة العربية السعودية , وزارة التعليم , إدارة التعليم بمحافظة الزلفي , الشؤون التعليمية , النشاط الطلابي , شعبة النشاط العلمي , استمارة التميز العلمي ) ثم الضغط على ( متابعة ) حيث تظهر على الشاشة المراحل التعليمية الثلاث , يقوم المستخدم باختيار المرحلة التعليمية , حيث تظهر على الشاشة جميع المدارس المسجلة في التطبيق مرتبة تصاعديا بحيث المدرسة الأكثر درجات تكون هي الأعلى وهكذا , يختار المستخدم مدرسته حيث يظهر له جميع البرامج المقرر تنفيذها خلال العام الدراسي و حالة البرنامج و الدرجة التي حصلت عليها المدرسة وفي نهاية القائمة يظهر مجموع الدرجات.
