Description

Can you really hear the difference?

ABX Audio enables double-blind A/B/X testing of audio clips.

You can test any audio clips on your device, in any audio format your device supports. Most versions of Android support WAV, MP3, AAC, FLAC and others.

One common use for this app is to rip a WAV to MP3s at different bit rates and ABX test each MP3 against the original WAV file to determine what is the lowest bit rate you can use that will be free of audible distortion. You can also test different encoders and results of filters at different frequencies.

You provide your own audio clips, though ABX Audio's web site has a few sample audio files to help you get started.

This app runs on any Android device (phone or tablet of any size), on any version of Android from 2.3.3 forward. It has no ads, no telemetry, doesn't use network, is free and open source, and needs storage permission only to access audio files and save its config settings.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

3 ★overall not suitable yet, but looks promising ///// path button causes crash - fixed with dev response (manually give app storage permissions) ///// can't navigate path out of internal storage and to memory card - dev said they are working on it, for now use default storage ///// sync play is broken, leaves one clip inaudible. dev is working on a fix ///// regular switching works, but each clip picks up where it left from when switching back, which gives away 'x'. dev is working on a fix.
