Description
Le Lycée est situé à environ 35km au nord de Beyrouth en direction de Tripoli, en retrait du littoral à 300 m d’altitude à mi-chemin entre Jounieh et Byblos (Jbeil), l’accès se fait à partir de l’autoroute. Le lycée se trouve dans un site calme, isolé, montagneux.Ses bâtiments d’aspect massif, sont conçus en béton brut.
Il dispose par ailleurs d’une magnifique vue sur la mer de tous les endroits grâce à l’ensoleillement généreux du Liban.
De 1985 à août 1996, annexe du grand lycée franco-libanais de Beyrouth, d’abord dans des bâtiments de fortune, puis dans un immeuble d’habitation à Kfar Habab.
En 1992, le comité des parents d’élèves et la mission laïque française conviennent d’établir le lycée sur un site partiellement construit d’Al Maayssra dont le propriétaire envisageait d’établir une école dans le bâtiment A.
En 1994, les élèves du secondaire sont accueillis dans le bâtiment B. La construction des cours, le parking des bus et l’agrandissement du bâtiment B permettent d’accueillir 1457 élèves en 1996.
Depuis septembre 1996, le lycée est devenu autonome avec un proviseur nommé par l’AEFE. En 1997, la construction du bâtiment I abrite l’administration, la salle des professeurs et une partie des classes du lycée (premières et terminales).En 2002, ouverture du gymnase et du terrain de sport, en 2004, ouverture des laboratoires de sciences.
