Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★My CXN is totally betrayed by this app. Its usable enough but could be so much better. When you have a large music collection it is essential to be able to browse and manage your queues on a tablet or similar so the app needs to be as good as the hardware its controlling . The screen space is full of clutter and could be optimised much better for driving the streamer. I don't need to see the links to things I don't use. Please, rework this app and make it good!
3 ★I recently bought the great Cambridge 851n streamer. An absolutely fantastic device in every possible way. The Streammagic app is OK; it runs smoothly, looks good and gets the job done. However, there are a few things that could be improved if you ask me. Like having a shortcut to your playlist from the home screen, the ability to delete multiple songs at once, remembering the last used media location / folder (really annoying), missing the very useful notification bar from the Connect app, etc.
2 ★The radio station search does not work. There is no problem with the Cambridge Connect app. Update :- previous emails with support person just keeps suggesting it is a network problem. How can this be when connect app works fine. Also it seems to be more like incompatibility with Sumsung devices. Have problem on tablet and phone. Works fine on an old HTC phone.
4 ★The app works well on my Huawei tablet. However, the radio items (recent, popular st, search) show nothing on my Samsung phone. Search finds nothing. The only radio feature that work on the Samsung are the ones on presets. I have a CXNv2 which itself runs well so far. Update 22 Sept: Two days later the radio features work again on the phone. Update 17 Oct: Qobuz works fine via the Media tab and switching between USB and Qobuz is possible. App takes a bit of learning.
1 ★Can't believe Cambridge don't have a simple app to control their equipment. Back to basics is all that is required. They just need a simple app that mirrors the hand held devices that come with their equipment. On/Off, Vol up/down, source selection etc all on one screen. Then build on that some of the wizzy things this software is trying to do. It's not complicated! I have a CXN and a CXR. If the CXR is switched off the app can't communicate with it. What a pointless piece of software this is. Go back to the drawing board Cambridge. Why is tidal permanently on the hub? You can't get rid of it. Don't use, don't intend to use it,
2 ★This app is very messy and not in the least bit intuitive. It is not at all obvious how to negotiate to the screens that display the currently playing track and the current queue. The Hub with the online streaming options is messy and the wrong default screen, Media would be better. An option to choose start up screen would help as would being able to toggle off unwanted services the way device inputs can be hidden. Only plus is it does actually control playback from my NAS to my 851N.
3 ★I've been using the StreamMagic app for a month or two. I still can't figure out where to find the current playlist for Tidal (Hi-Fi version), which incidentally keeps pausing inexplicably (we have fast fibre optic internet which can handle Netflix, games etc. without interruptions). Great sound from the CXNv2 streamer when everything is working properly but the interface is anything but intuitive.
4 ★Update: disabling igmp snooping on the network switch between the nas and the WiFi access point sorted my issue. Works well apart from seeming to loose track of my Synology nas occasionally when navigating my music. Get a failure to enque error, navigating all the way back to top level and selecting the server again, and then going back to where I was works... Yep irritating. The queue keeps on playing and other equipment and apps can see the nas, so does seem specific fault in this app.
1 ★This app just will not work for me. It mainly gives 'Failed to enqueue' errors when trying to play over network. NOTE: Cambridge Connect app works just fine upon immediate switch. Very slow compared to anything. Also, it's a shame developers ignore the fact some people use tablets, and like a wide (vs. vertical) view.
4 ★Stumbled upon this app. Was using Cambridge Connect all these while on my 851N. Interface is a huge step-up from Connect... looks way more modern. Most features seem to work well. However, Media does not show my phone (and the music files in it), even though I can see (and play) other sources connected to my wifi network. Not sure why, even after much extensive troubleshooting.
3 ★OK, but could be improved. Interface better than the Cambridge Audio app but some functionality seems to have been lost. For example, TIDAL home has links which seem to be buggy, e.g. there are only 2 albums in the Top 20. TIDAL Recommends not as good as old CA app. It is also difficult to find the queue. On the plus side, my NAS drive music can now be added to the queue though I get a No Contents message when trying to browse an album. Previously, I just got an error and could not add to queue.
3 ★Great for radio Have to restart app to find cxn v2 over wifi Airplay doesn't display artwork Clunky for 2020, no layout customisation, queue system bizzare, easier to find music in other apps, playlists accessed quickly. CA do not support MQA (tidal) but hi-res supported (qobuz). Hi-res logo displays in app but mqa doesn't so I find duplicates of albums in tidal, due to this qobuz integration feels a little better. I prefer tidal UI so chromecast with it has become 1st choice over this app
