2 ★This app has real issues on my Android phone. As many others have pointed out it has difficulty finding the core and every time my phone goes to sleep it needs to find the core again. And it is slow doing so. Plus it drains the battery really fast when your are searching. Roon is great but this is the biggest negative to the application. And the app itself feels a bit clunky somehow. Of course that is lots of functionality to get on a phone. And it does not run on Chrome OS. Maybe it works better on Apple devices but really who wants to pay for apple devices.
2 ★Roon is a fine music player but as mentioned by others the type is so small on android it is hard to read and typing in text or editing a search in the text field is horribly difficult and needs fixing other than that with a tablet or computer it works fine. One other thing that is a bit annoying is that when I go back to roon to change selection it always going through the seeking the hub process and takes quite some time. It shouldn't have to take this long just to change a song when it is already running on my stereo system. This is of course the android app but the apple tablet app has the same delay
4 ★Updated to 1.7 now it crashes after connecting to roon server. How do I roll this back? The earlier version worked so 4 stars. 2/29 ok getting upset! My system is useless without this app. C'mon guys put the previous release back up here so we can continue until you get the crashing issue resolved. We are all paying subscribers to your service.
2 ★Keeps hanging on bootup screen
1 ★I experienced the following 2 unacceptable issues on both oneplus 7 pro and samsung galaxy tab s7+: 1. Cannot find roon core - always need to scan IP address manually; 2. If I play music through roon to my Android device, there is always SRC with DragonFly Cobalt. UAPP can clearly do bitperfect playback on Android devices, but roon cannot. The iOS version of roon remote doesn't have these issues. Why roon labs couldn't make the experience consistent?
5 ★Currently won't find my roon core device after updating to the version that doesn't crash on start for Android 10. (Pixel 3xl, Android 10, roon remote 1.6 build 433). breaks the entire use case of roon for me until this is fixed. Server is running and I'm able to connect from my MacBook. Even uninstalled/reinstalled to no avail. Edit. Needed to manually add the core via ip address
2 ★The main reason I installed this app was to have a remote to control Tidal. I had to uninstall it less than an hour later. The font is WAY TOO SMALL. I couldn't get my nav bar to change from the BRIGHT WHITE. I almost injured myself with this app LOL. Tidal and Spotify's android apps are perfect. Make this one the same and I'll be back.
5 ★Not sure why so many have issues with finding their Core but I'd assume user error. Never have had a problem and I love the service!
3 ★The service is incredible. The app for Android on an S9+ is garbage. It crashes regularly and is slow compared to the iPad. For the cost of their service and the complexity of Roon itself I would expect their app to work better. When it works the UI is fantastic.
3 ★Some hiccups with original experience but I rode them out and ultimately purchased the service. Roon Core is a Win10 PC w/64G of RAM and a Mobo/proc combo that's just as much of overkill. This is a dedicated PC that does Roon only. Roon crashes occasionally and sometimes takes windows with it. Often enough to take 1-1.5 stars away from rating. Limited to 96k on MQA files (single unfold only) and higher bitrate content is not easily found or discernable without digging into content description.
2 ★The old UI was much better
3 ★Three stars because it works fine on my phone but is nearly useless on my tablet, samsung sm-t590, it almost never finds the core. My phone finds it every time, same network, its not a network issue, this is something inside of roon remote. Rather sucks since I paid for a lifetime subscription.
