Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★I love being able to track cicada appearances. I remember them 17yrs ago. Thank you for this tech.😊
1 ★Mid and North western Maryland has managed to skip the cicada invasion this time around.
5 ★Awesome app! Already have seen pics of Cicadas in my state.
4 ★I just got a great photo of a Brood X nymph beginning to emerge from its hole. My photos are clearly geotagged (precise location info displays with the photo in Google Photos), but Cicada Safari won't let me use them, saying they're not geotagged. No pun intended, but is this a bug? Is there some way I can "clean up" the location metadata that will help Cicada Safari recognize it?
2 ★Downloaded it just to see how close the cidada emergence was to my area. Then I tried looking a photos and videos posted by users to familiarize myself with the insects before they emerged where I live. Photos won't load at all. Videos rarely load. And if you scroll down more than 3 pages worth of thumbnails the scroll action becomes choppy to the point of unusability. Not a very optimized app but I guess I shouldn't be too critical based on who made it and why it was made.
5 ★Straight forward and tells a lot about the info I was looking for. I'm happy to take pictures for research. I'm also excited to see where others have found their cicada sites. They say they won't come as close as my hometown but I'm hopeful to see how close they really get.
1 ★Couldn't get past pop up that asks to enable location tracking. I use a TV box, which doesn't have GPS settings. Get rid of that pop up & replace with a zip code or address option. Once the app works, I will review again.
3 ★It would be helpful if photos had date stamps. It's the end of April, but photos on the app say the cicadas have been found, but there's no way of knowing if those are current photos or not.
3 ★Seems like a promising app, but how useful is it without timestamps, including the year. This seems like the most obvious ans pertinent information, and yet it's nowhere to be found on posts/photos. (Android version)
2 ★Just installed tonight so the jury is still out but I'm confused already. I thought a good place to start was with my profile. I selected edit, and tried to add a pix, like a profile pix, it let me choose it but won't upload it. Not a good start! Hopefully the functionality of the app will improve tomorrow when I'm out running errands and perhaps finding opportunities to add pictures of the little guys! Stars will be added when things improve!
2 ★App crashes EVERYTIME i go to the map
1 ★App does not work, I never get past the open screen, waited a long time watching the cicada animation with no change.
