2 ★Great game... if you can play it. It kills your battery life, despite devs saying the latest patch had helped. 9 out of 10 times i get frozen on loading screens. Most of which occur when initially loading into the game. I'll keep checking to see if things have been fixed and optimized and edit my review accordingly!
3 ★A good solid game plenty of fun to be had. I was really on the fence about buying the game. So close... but then i realized i had already experienced all of the gameplay to be had... I wish there was more to the game, more evolutions... If you buy the full version, the only things you get are new AI's and more online play..... not worth it. Let me know when you release more content... then I'll buy it.
5 ★I am not sure what is going on but I got a new phone. Redownloaded this and it will not let me play the campaign. It keeps telling me I can change the setting in the main menu, I click continue campaign and it just tells me I can change settings in the main menu again. I love this game and would like a fix. Edit: the customer support here is great and will work with you to fix any issue to have. Great game. Love the app.
4 ★works well, fun game, demo mode is long as well. Performance is poor and consequentially battery life suffers. Might I suggest reviewing the lighting and removing dynamic lights, looking into other low hanging fruit? Game doesn't need a spotlight on active player, it just washes things out. Memory usage also seems high. Loading and switching in and out of game take a while. Loses a star mainly for performance issues and other nitpics like tiny fonts and such, otherwise this is very well done.
5 ★Evolution is an insanely satisfying strategy game. Single player is fun and intuitively helps with the learning curve - it becomes progressively more complex, and the weekly challenges are great for learning new strategies. Once you've mastered the complexities, the game rewards in dividends when you start beating other players in multiplayer.
2 ★I had an S8 when I first downloaded this app. Only play AI games worked, the campaign mode didn't, it just sent me back to the main menu. Then I upgraded my phone to an S20 Ultra and things flipped. I could only play the campaign and no longer had access to the AI matches. I was enjoying the campaign play until I got to level 21 where it started to loop. Even though I beat that level, it just sends me back to level 21. With the most recent update the app won't even open. Was fun for awhile.
3 ★I loved this game, but I haven't been able to play it in almost two years now due to incessant crashing apon opening the game. I put the game down for so long in hopes that while I was gone, some sort of patch or change to the game would be added to fix this. I own the physical boardgame, but I particularly love the online play. It's been such a bummer to redownload it and immediately be booted out several times in a row! I hope this gets fixed, I really do enjoy this game.
5 ★Great fun. I have only played once irl so I'm still learning. I liked the campaigns a lot and wish there was more levels. Multiplayer is alright but not much fun when people who are really advanced dominate right off the bat and I really hate that cards have to be removed in order of placement. The rounds have a time limit and if you want to make changes it can time you out before you are done. My favorite is the weekly challenges.
5 ★Highly recommend. Fun to have this on mobile. Runs very poorly on my low budget lg walmart phone, does well on my pc. The game plays ok, it makes sense and once you get to know the different cards the small size of them doesnt matter as much. I think it is mechanically sound and true to the original game. I encountered 1 bug, on the last 2 rounds of a game it wouldnt let me swipe my cards around. i could read them, but it wouldnt let me use them. still 5/5 stars.
5 ★Note: I have not dropped the $10 on the full game yet, so this review remains preliminary. That said, after completing the demo campaign and two rounds of AI games, I was so impressed that I was spurred to purchase the physical board game. The graphics are very clean and line up nicely with the physical games design. The controls are intuitive and I've had no issues with bugs in the daily free multiplayer game. The price point is high for an android game. Overall 9/10.
5 ★Excellent app for an exceptional game. Evolution translates well to app form and this adaptation feels high production. Decent AI, stable multiplayer, and clean but functional interface check all the boxes for this type of game. My one con is that on my Moto G6 load times are substantial so if you have an older phone consider going to the steam version.
4 ★Love it but I find myself really wanting an endless mode of sorts. Something where it only ends when all your species are dead at the end of the round, and each opponent gets progressively harder through the rounds. There are strategies that I want to try an armies to build, but not enough time to do it! other then that if you love science and strategy, its worth the 10. :)
