L’Associació de Comerciants i Professionals de Fondo Comerç neix el juliol del 2006, amb la voluntat de dinamitzar i ajudar al sector comercial del barri del Fondo de Santa Coloma de Gramenet. Paral•lelament a aquest objectiu, Fondo Comerç n’estableix uns altres que va més enllà de la finalitat econòmica i que està vinculada a la voluntat d’invertir en la societat amb la qual treballa, de preocupar-se pels temes socials i culturals que afecten als seus conciutadans. Aquest objectiu és el que es coneix, en l’àmbit de les organitzacions, com a responsabilitat social.Fondo Comerç desenvolupa la seva tasca principalment en un districte on gairebé la meitat de la població procedeix de l’estranger. Aquest resultat situen el contingent immigratori més recent del Fondo vint punts per sobre de la mitjana de la ciutat. Aquet districte és de llarg, el que té una densitat de població més alta (630 habitants/ha), i hi conviuen persones de 78 nacionalitats diferents.
