1 ★Out of the gate, this has been a most awful experience. Just getting the camera set up took hours, and I'm still uncertain if it's working correctly. The camera continually disconnects and the app is less than intuitive. I spent actual money on this thing and am only thankful that it wasn't very much since I bought it used. I'll let this run for awhile and see how things go. I am rating 1-star for now since there's nothing lower available. I'll adjust accordingly after working with it further.
1 ★This app has always been terrible, what's more is each update makes the app worse. I'd already stopped using it months ago but now my phone reports the app is using my phone's microphone in the background. I'll be uninstalling immediately. Biggest complaints besides spying concerns are :forgets my login and fails logging in regularly, connection with camera is agonizingly slow, often the app fails for no reason. Setup is often just lost and must be reconfigured. Alerting is hit and miss. After my $200 investment in the camera I gave this terrible app way too much of my effort and time. I have a Samsung phone, TV, soundbar, smart watch, tablet, and probably more. All are great. This camera app is so terrible I'll be happy to replace my $200 samsung security camera with any other brand.
1 ★This is quite possibly the worst functioning app I have ever used. Whats more frustrating is the fact that money was spent purchasing the camera. Using the app is free but (Samsung) already has my money which probably explains why theres no effort to improve the app. The video is stop n go at best and only for a few moments. Even if you set the resolution to its lowest setting. Expect errors and failed recordings. DO NOT RELY ON THIS APP FOR SURVEILANCE OR SECURITY PURPOSES.
4 ★Almost perfect cam, Great video quality, I use a 64gb hd card and it works perfectly with it. Warning IF you use it to record in your house,IF you remove the card without first going into the app to deauthorize the memory card, it will render the card useless. It literally crashes the card,Just buy another card. I'd suggest to immediately rename the cam and add a strong password. Downside is if you access the cam too many times(4 or more), it will not let you access it again unless you reboot
4 ★Cameras ( indoor) are working better than ever, they have stopped disconecting, and I'm happy, except for my outside cams, I got the 5 cam . smart hd, nv, however, never considered that people would actually steal them, so, when installing outdoor wireless, put them up high and hope thieves don't steal them too. Lesson learned (pricey error)
1 ★this company sucks...I updated and now it is asking for passwords on each camera! I never set up on each! Only on initial login! God this is frustrating! I will go on any and all chats and reviews to talk people out of buying this product! It sounds like I am NOT the only one! Shame on you for not even trying to fix this for your customers! How dare you, by the way, sit back on your fat asses and take people's money and not support your product. God! SO pissed off!
1 ★Camera software is a battery hog. Even with a fully charged battery,and the charger plugged in, both my cell and tablet are only good for 5 or six hours before shutting down because of a discharged battery. If you get one of these cameras, you will need to replace your cell phone or tablet battery with a GOOD car battery. Hooked up to a good battery charger. Drops connection with phone every couple minutes. This camera and software isn't worth the price. One star since there are no minus stars
1 ★Unusable with recent versions of Android. Every time you unlock your phone screen you get a notification saying this app is using your microphone. I've contacted them by email and got a BS explanation....but you'd think they would mention why this happens in the app details to put everyone's mind at rest....but nope. The shady microphone issue has been a complaint since about August of 2017 and many updates.
1 ★The app update that just happened, everytime I try to zoom on one of my cameras it will not zoom anymore and it causes the app to crash!This needs to be fixed asap it is totally unacceptable that I cannot zoom in my cameras anymore! I'll change my review if you guys fix this problem, it is doing this on every device I have the smart cam app installed on!
1 ★Notifications no longer work. We now get a pop-up that says "this notification is for another account used on this device". Oddly, I'm using a Samsung phone (s10 plus) with A Samsung camera, on Samsung software. It actually worked fine using my LG V20. Support devices is key to long term loyalty.
1 ★The app only works sometimes, only notifies motion or events sometimes. The app interface is ridiculously complicated and doesnt make sense.
2 ★USELESS and BAD for SECURITY APPLICATIONS!......OAuth integration with Google is still terrible after 2 years and numerous updates. "403" "forbidden_useragent" errors prevent this app and the Samsung cameras from notifying you of an event by email when away from home....effectively crippling use as a security device. And since OAuth in the embedded browser (in Smart Things) fails, there is no GoogleDrive uploading of pics or vids from a security camera "event" either.... PLEASE Fix this !!!
