À la frontière entre monde virtuel et monde réel, ReWild est un jeu en réalité alternée mêlant énigmes et randonnées.Ce jeu de quête utilise plusieurs médias : site internet, roadbooks, cartes interactives et smartphones et s'étend sur les territoires des parcs naturels régionaux du Massif des Bauges, de Chartreuse, du Haut-Jura et du Vercors et dans les villes d'Aix-les-Bains, Bellegarde-sur-Valserine, Chambéry et Grenoble.
L’application ReWild est un outil complémentaire permettant d’enregistrer ses réponses au fur et à mesure des randonnées. Quand un tracé est terminé, l'utilisateur peut envoyer ses réponses directement au serveur pour connaître immédiatement son score et marquer des points.
Autre fonctionnalité importante mais facultative : la géolocalisation qui permet de suivre tous les ReWilders et de voir leurs positions (s'ils le souhaitent).
Enfin, en se géolocalisant à certains points de passage, l'utilisateur a accès à des indices supplémentaires pour les énigmes les plus difficiles.
Le jeu ReWild a été développé par la société Interactive 4D à l'initiative de l'Association Grande Traversée des Alpes et des parcs naturels régionaux du Massif des Bauges, de Chartreuse, du Haut-Jura et du Vercors.
