O aplicativo Mapa do Racismo e da Intolerância Religiosa foi pensado como um canal de denúncias entre a sociedade e o Ministério Público do Estado da Bahia.Com este aplicativo, qualquer cidadão pode registrar denúncias de discriminação racial, étnica ou religiosa, consultar o mapa do racismo na Bahia e solicitar informações sobre a instituição.
Segundo o artigo 140 do parágrafo 3º do Código Penal Brasileiro, ofender a honra de qualquer pessoa com a utilização de elementos referentes a raça, cor, etnia, religião ou origem pode resultar em ação penal por injúria racial. Podem ser feitas denúncias ao MPBA sobre qualquer ofensa racial. Racismo é crime previsto pela Lei 7.716/89 e deve ser sempre denunciado.
