Description

★ Top Developer (awarded 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015) ★
AI Factory's Backgammon is the best free Backgammon game on Android!

Backgammon is a game of skill and strategy; one of the world's classic parlour board games, played for recreation and gambling. Like Mahjong, Backgammon is played in social groups in coffee houses and bars. Historically, variants of this game are believed to have been played in Mesopotamia and Egypt thousands of years ago, then by the Romans and later in India. It also spread to East Asia, but was largely replaced by Xiangqi (Chinese chess). It is now very popular in the West.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★This is the best version of backgammon online I've found yet. No ads or obstructions. Smooth gameplay, good graphics and controls. AI at the highest difficulty isn't all that great and is predictable. No online play, but as far as single player goes, this is worth getting. Again, no ads, that's a huge plus.
5 ★Good entertainment on the go. Graphics are beautiful and the controls are ok. I don't believe that the dice are rigged, despite what some others have mentioned (although they can be infuriating at times, but that happens in real life too, doesn't it?). Only minor flaw is that the playing strength is not that hard, I'm thrashing it usually at the highest level, and I don't consider myself particularly strong a player. It's a great time killer!
1 ★I will stand by my first review. The cpu definitely has an advantage on 1st roll and is able to hit your first exposed piece 80% of the time which isn't random. You can beat the cpu but you have to overcome the bias. The statistics don't lie. Also the counter adding up your hits of the cpu's pieces double counts at times. AI needs to look again at their coding for the hidden bias.
5 ★Good, full-featured backgammon game with 2-player and AI-opponent support and multiple themes. Supports the standard rules for up to 15-point matches, can be configured for Crenshaw Rule. Can even accept input of dice if you don't want to trust the RNG—supposedly because some players thought the AI was cheating? But the AI has two problems: its hardest setting is only moderately challenging, and it doesn't know how to mitigate point loss in a gammon or backgammon. Still, overall, great game.
2 ★On level 5 CPU opponent has loaded dice. Out of the 50 games I've played on this difficulty the CPU opponent on average has outscored me on dice total by 41.6 and has 82 more doubles than me. I haven't in these 50 games managed to outscore the CPU, not once. The skill of the CPU opponent hasn't got harder which I wouldn't mind but relies upon his outrageous 'luck' to win by outscoring you and getting way more doubles.
5 ★Really good game with a challenging AI that is hard to beat on the hardest level, irrespective of the dice rolls. Decent graphics with helpful green triangles.
2 ★Opening: your opponent has won the dice roll and will make the first move. Every time. (During play, cpu gets every favorable roll.) Bearoff: Cpu double 5 and six. You 1 and 2. Every time. I have thrown two tablets thru the Window because of all the cheating. Still fun, tho. UPDATE: this game cheats like a drunk riverboat gambler. If you could program an AI grifter, this would be it.
4 ★Overall good, but AI problem. When the computer rolls, and gets a 1 and then a 2 die, it will opt to move a piece 1 then 2. Even if the AI can take the opponent piece. You see this problem often when the AI does your Auto win, where it always follows the order of the dice first.
5 ★I have a lot of fun with this but there is one stupid mistake by the (level 5) AI. If I'm already taking stones off and he still has a stone in my home, he doesn't prioritize moving it out which unnecessarily results in me getting 3 points instead of 2. Even if there is no way for him to hit me anymore.
5 ★Always loved to play semi-pro games in real life for $1 a pip. This version keeps my wits keen well in my 60's. I have backgammoned the CPU many times on level 5.
3 ★It is impossible for me to believe that the rolls are 100% random. However, any other backgammon app my husband and I have tried are far worse.
3 ★Good fast clean player. Just a little too easy. maybe the AI system needs a little working
