Power Outage Alarm can notify you by SMS text message and by sounding an optional audible alarm when your electrical equipment suffers a power outage. If you have important equipment running and want to know if there has been a power cut while you're not around, this app can help. From Freezers to Fish Tanks and all things electrical, Power Outage Alarm can provide you with additional peace of mind.Typical uses include:

Power Outage Alarm works happily in the background on your Android device and will keep monitoring even when your device is asleep and the screen is off.
Plug your chosen Android device into a socket on the same circuit as the electrical equipment you want to monitor. For example if you want to know if there is power loss to your fish tank then plug your Android device into a socket on the same circuit as the tank itself. This does mean that Power Outage Alarm requires a dedicated Android device to monitor your equipment. We use an old, cheap Android phone to monitor our refrigeration units at our family's restaurant and leave it running whilst nobody is there. Temporary use of SMS capable Android tablets could be a good alternative to having a dedicated phone.
Note that this app requires the capability to send SMS text messages using the standard mobile telephone network. It is not compatible with third party applications that send text messages over the internet.

2 ★In South Africa, where power outages are the norm, whether it be power cuts, or weather related, the fact remains we frequently have outages. This app is extremely important to notify you of the outage, as it will affect your freezer content in our HOT climate. This is where the app comes to its full right, so you can take action, to avoid food spoilage and other security related matters. I purchased the PRO version and I must say it WORKS 100%. I have put in a request to add more than one contact number............
2 ★Duplicate disruption msgs being sent. The app website and support email ids don't even exist. There is no way to contact the app makers

5 ★Simple, no nonsense tool. Even better would be an option to send email via wifi so you can, like me, use an old phone no longer connected to the network as an audible alarm AND still have a remote warning. Wifi when there's an outage??? Well if you're installing this you may well have taken the precaution of also installing a UPS or be able to grab a public wifi hotspot. Hey presto, an alarm that doesn't need a SIM.
5 ★The recent update to have an audible alarm has turned an already good app into a great app. Now it can wake me up when I'm home as well as texting me when I'm away. This is a great use of my old android phone and well worth 99p. I even tested it when there was no phone signal and it sent a message when it got a signal back. It seems very reliable which is what you really need for an app like this to give you peace of mind.
5 ★Went for this app just in case we had a power failure and we were away for a few days. I had a problem installing this product. Nothing to do with the app, down to my android mobile. Just hung trying to install. Turned out to be the same with other apps. So did a factory reset of my mobile & downloaded the app fine. This happened on a Saturday evening. I reported the fault to SJB and had a response within an hour! So app brilliant & support even better.
5 ★Recently I suffered a power outage at home during a vacation. Back at home I had to throw away all the fridge content. So I found this brilliant app. It send me an sms when a power outage occurs and another one if the power comes back. I can set delays (to avoid getting an sms if the power outage lasts only a few seconds). And I can get periodic sms to alert me to recharge my phone credit. This last feature was fixed and improved very quickly after contacting customer support so this app deserves 5 stars without doubts.
4 ★Great app. Please add ability to send emails (as phone can have data connection or if using wifi the router may have a UPS). Also ability to send texts to more than one number and emails to multiple addresses. And ability to send text and email or just text or just email. This would make the app perfect and more economical to use. Well done developer.
