Anchor Alert is an advanced anchor alarm application made in New Zealand by a professional software developer and MCA certified Yachtmaster. It was the first anchor alarm available for Android devices and remains the number one choice of serious boaters. It uses a unique anchor projection algorithm which automatically takes into account the magnetic-declination of your location to more accurately set the anchor watch point. It has a clutter-free interface and runs fully off-line (after initial verification). It has been designed primarily to maximise reliability and battery life while allowing the user the greatest degree of flexibility and customisation possible.

5 ★Highly recommend this app, it has earned my trust. Excellent and fast support response.

3 ★This seems really good but I tested last night then rowed away from the vessel in the morning to check the alarm and it didn't go off because the phone was locked. is there a way to get it to activate even if the phone is locked?

4 ★I tried this when at anchor in May/June 2023. Back then it completely failed on its first real test and I gave it a 1* review as being not recommended. Since then the creator has worked to improve the issues I identified. I have tested it again one year later in May/June 2024 and it has worked fine each time. Now recommended at 4*. Not the clearest user interface as otherwise it would be 5*.

5 ★Good so far, even though it is relatively easy to use it would be nice to have a youtube tutorial.

2 ★Tried for 8 nights on three occasions and two different phones. Finally gave up. It seems to work great until you fall asleep, then it will generate a false alarm or GPS error and wake you up. Then you have to reset the application. Like clockwork a couple of hours you'll get another false alarm. The anchor itself was fine each time. Seems worse in windy conditions with boat swinging.

2 ★Works great until it does not. Way too many false alarms from the apploosing it's GPS accuracy. The monitoring stops and I have to restart theanchor set process. Tried for three days in windy conditions, no luck. Myplotter showed us swinging on the same arch with the anchor not moving asdid my compass shore marks. The device had a clear view of the sky, I evenleft it on deck for a while, no luck. Not useful if you can't trust it.Waking up every 2-3 hrs for a GPS failure on a windy night is no good. Willtry another app.

4 ★Please add NMEA for lat/lon would allow us to monitor anchor position using the boats GPS antenna. Also could add a depth alarm.

5 ★This app has been a great way to sleep better while on the hook. With the message capabilities, even going ashore is less of a "I hope we're still in the same place" moment.
