About OGN Transceiver APK
Table Of Contents
Description
Report your actual flying data to the OGN infrastructure without any extra, radio based equipment.- You will only need your phone you already have. (Less equipment to charge, carry, take care of.)
- Show yourself on OGN based radar maps like www.glidertracker.org, www.gliderradar.com or live.glidernet.org.
- Report an extended set of flying data to the OGN network: coordinates, altitude, ground speed, vertical speed, bearing and aircraft type.
- For a price of a meal it's a lot cheaper than even a DIY OGN radio transceiver.
- It's configurationless. Leave everything empty and start using it out of the box.
- You don't need a registered ID (temporary ID will be generated for you).
- If you have a registered ID (ddb.glidernet.org) you can set it in the app.
- You can set a custom (postfix) ID (or custom name) to report to the OGN network.
- Applicaiton is suitable for paragliders, hang gliders, gliders or other recreational or sport pilots in many other classes.
Other information:
Reporting depends on internet and cellphone coverage and signal strength. You may or may not met these requirements on certain coordinates or altitudes. If connection is lost the application will try to reconnect.
Test flights have been done and it reports very good reception also at relatively high alitudes (like 2000m AGL).
OGN (radar) maps are custom representations of the OGN network. You may or may not find yourself on these maps in special cases. (Like setting different ID and custom ID, registered or not etc.) Some maps may ignore your aircraft type or not show you at all in special combinations.
The app is using your GPS subsystem constantly therefore it's heavy on battery. (If your device is already using GPS (running XCSoar or anything) you won't notice any difference.)
If you have a registered ID you can set it in your livetrack24 account and LT24 will get your OGN data.

Questions & Answers
Q: What is an APK File?
A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.
