This app called "Norway - North Cape 1 " is a series of app-guide dedicated to the immense natural and cultural heritage of Northern Norway. In this video 1 we follow the route Honningsvåg - Gjesvaer - Kamoyvaer. While in the second app, "Norway - Head North 2 ", we follow the route Skarsvåg - Nordkapp (North Cape) with a series of curiosity along the route.
ITINERARY
Arrive by plane from Oslo to Alta and continue Honningsvåg which is located on the island of Magerøya, which for some years was connected with a tunnel to the mainland and so, you can reach by car.
HONNINGSVÅG - is a village of 3200 inhabitants located in the municipality of Nordkapp, the northernmost municipality of Norway, in the county of Finnmark and here, there are all basic services. Honningsvåg is located 35 km from the North Cape (Nordkapp)
GJESVAER - is an ancient fishing village located 35 km from Honningsvåg. Refer to n.1 in the map.
KAMØYVAER - This tiny village is located a few kilometers from Honningsvåg, offers the opportunity to see up close the gulls of the species "tridactile", or kittywake. Indeed, immediately after turning right at the junction with the highway meet some colonies of these birds chose to nest among the cliffs in front of fishing industry, who visit periodically, hovering above your head, heedless of your presence. A little further if you love art or whimsical souvenirs, visit the nice gallery "East of the Sun".
NOTES
Restaurants, hotels, campsites and tourist services are the island's main sites. Please remember to bring warm clothes with you because even if the weather is nice not to forget that the variability of weather here is the main rule. Respect nature and do not light fires except where strictly allowed.
