5 ★Fantastic service and simple to use app; highly recommend paying for their pro membership ($40 a year I think?) because not only are you supporting a group of forecasters looking to make your next ski trip better, you get unbelievable beta for such a low price. The features are great (love the new maps features with the overlays) and the daily snow reports are fantastic in my region (shoutout to BA putting out hands down the BEST reports for Tahoe/Squaw/Mammoth, all you other regions take note).
5 ★If you love skiing or snowboarding, you NEED this app. Use it for short & medium term forecasts, travel planning for when to drive or wait, and even details of individual mountains. You'd be surprised how different conditions can be over a few hours (for driving) or from resort to resort (to figure out where you want to be. I've used the app many times to ensure that I drive up before a big powder dump, enjoy skiing, and then drive back in good weather ❄️💯
5 ★Highly recommended, get it. I've been a member since 2011 and read this info almost daily during the ski season. I like how the Favorites help me keep up on my local ski areas as well as my friends/family. App and usability improvements come out at a reasonable pace and are well thought out. Nice content, nice tech!
3 ★Pretty decent info and accessible style. Seems like they haven't worked all the bugs out of the android version. I mostly get stalls and no information after sitting for 10 minutes. Great data connection and modern phone so hopefully they get their execution figured out.
1 ★I have followed Open Snow for years. Loved the detailed info for us weather geeks. It was awesome and I used it all winter! Now a membership is required and it is a rip off. Very disappointed and I have Uninstalled it. Please bring back the free version. (We know you already make income from advertising and probably the reports).
5 ★Unbelievably good tool for an avid skiier. Highly recommend the premium if you've got the means. Split the subscription with friends and it's 10/mo. Has been incredibly helpful in understanding what conditions are likely to be like on hill, on road and in the backcountry. A true joy of an app.
1 ★I used to love this app... unfortunately for the past few weeks it just freezes the second I open it and nothing will come up. It will sporadically work, but 90% of the time it doesn't. I'm not having issues with any of my other apps. And the app doesn't need an update from what I can tell. It's disappointing because typically this app is phenomenal.
1 ★Was a great app (have used it for years) until they forced the paid version on everyone. For others upset by the moneygrab here, check out "NOAA weather free". It has point forecasts, radar maps and a weather discussion updated twice per day. I'm deleting this app now, as the free version was stripped of all function. They may as well only have a paid version, the free one is worthless. Sad.
2 ★This app was really cool and now that our snow season was just getting started I figured this app would be all I need to monitor my local resort. Unfortunately I just got on and they made the 5 day forecast paid only, as well as other features. The price of this app was not worth it for a 3ish month season. I'd rather see some ads in the app instead. What a bummer. (Sam I don't buy coffee either so don't give the same response as you do everyone else).
1 ★Just opened for the first time since the update and I feel like I'm having a stroke trying to find the features and data that I've grown used to - the change is jarring. Also upsetting that I have to log in now to save favorites. I don't recall ever making an account before. Wish I had more thumbs so I could give this update 4 thumbs down. The update feels like a change for the sake of change - not one based on research on how to better serve your users.
5 ★Absolutely love this app! Evan is great in the Utah forecast - informative, witty, and practical all at the same time. His daily snow are awesome! I love the real time updates for snow forecasts at individual resorts. The ability to see my favorite resorts and the resorts I go to most often is a great feature! I've got plenty of resorts on there I'll likely never go to, but it's fun to see snow totals at Cannon Mountain on the east coast, Snowmass in Colorado, Heavenly and Kirkwood in Tahoe, and Silverton Mountain Heli guides in Alaska. It's a great app!
1 ★Requires subscription. I can accept a tiny unobtrusive ad here and there. I'll gladly pay a small fixed price to buy an ad free app. But ENOUGH WITH THE SUBSCRIPTION MODEL EVERYWHERE. Edit: i really don't mind "paying for the product", but i really do mind when every little thing stops being a product you buy, and becomes.a subscription service you have to "buy" over and over again. Your copy&paste response isn't welcome.
