Handy tool for IT administrators to configure a custom host name. Host name is updated on device reboot. Includes option to auto-generate a host name based on the device model.

Requires ROOT permissions!

Hint: on some devices the hostname command is not available. Therefore the app will ask you to install busybox.

4 ★Works fine with rooted Motorola Atrix/Motoluxe, throws error message but changes are done immediately anyway. BusyBox is needed, maybe worth mentioning this as well

5 ★I had problems due to a host name that was too long. FIXED with this tiny tool!!! If you have connection problems and use dd-wrt, try this.

3 ★Takes 5 or 6 attempts to not receive connection timeout error. After resetting wifi, works as intended until reboot.

1 ★This app won't work with out a yucky BusyBox install. Not installing BusyBox, so this app is essentially broken. Luckily there are alternatives that work and do not require BusyBox.
