Some characteristics that differ include the current use of metal roofing, some uses of synthetic sidings, added steel structural support, and, in general, the Contemporary Modern home is larger than the Classic Modern home.
Also, the use of “Green” materials and systems are commonly used in Contemporary Modern homes, with architects and builders pushing the boundaries of sustainable housing and design.
