Der Tag des Sports ist Österreichs größtes Open-Air-Sportfestival. Ein Erfolgsprojekt, das seit dem Jahr 2001 jährlich vom Sportministerium gemeinsam mit der Bundes-Sportorganisation organisiert wird.Sportstars wie Anna Veith, Marcel Hirscher, Anna Gasser, Stefan Kraft, Clemens Doppler, Alex Horst und weitere 400 erfolgreiche rot-weiß-rote SportlerInnen werden nicht nur für ihre Leistungen geehrt, sondern stellen aktiv ihre Sportart vor.
Bis zu 500.000 Menschen werden bei dieser Action mit den Sportstars, die sich natürlich auch Zeit für Autogramme und Selfies nehmen, in Bewegung gebracht.
Seit 2016 hat der Tag des Sports im Wiener Prater seine neue Homebase gefunden. Die grüne Lunge Wiens bietet genug Platz für die mehr als 150 „Mach mit“-Stationen – vom spektakulärem Flying Fox bis zur Ruder-Challenge.
122 Sportverbände und Sportorganisationen verwandeln so den Prater in den größten Sportplatz Europas. Ein interaktives Gewinnspiel mittels Web-App bietet außerdem wertvolle Preise für jene, die fleißig bei der Action mitmachen.
