Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

3 ★It works (mostly) once you figure out how to use it, but it is very slow (ridiculously slow the first time, still very slow later) and NOT completely stable. No hourglass or whirly icon to warn you when the app is waiting before it responds so you have to tap and wait and wait and hope it decides to do what you tapped on. The mapping function is NOT intuitive and NOT stable. It will get the GPS from your device, but it doesn't use that location unless you tell it to, even then the map view literally starts by displaying the entire world and it takes tapping the + icon to zoom in AT LEAST 14 times to get even close to street level. Meanwhile the map will jump around randomly rather than staying centered on the location. Once you finally do get to street level, you still need to zoom in a few more times to try to put the pin where it belongs, but you won't be able to see the map clearly at this point because there is a big dark blue overlay surrounding the GPS location. I eventually discovered that you can usually get big blue dot to go away if you take the map out of GPS location mode. Usually you can move the map around to get the proper location under the pin, but not always.
4 ★I just finished a deployment for damage assessment in wake of Hurricane Florence. We used RC Collect exclusively & encountered no particularly difficult problems. It functioned as expected when working in a disaster zone. I would, however, like to strongly recommend the following modifications to the data fields: 1.) Set data & time to automatically sync with the device settings 2.) Incident & DR name should remain replicated from entry to entry until physically changed by user 3.) Street Name should default to mixed case - cap first letter of every word. Maybe a mod to default cap for first word, then cap after each tap of space key 4.) State - leave entry static until actually changed 5.) Worker name with capped first letter to remain constant until physically changed by user
