Description

This app measures collects, displays, and can record data using an accelerometer, gyroscope, and barometer. It consecutively collects data on G-force (x, y, z), radians/second (x, y, z), and hectoPascals, all plotted against time. This app can be especially useful for analyzing relative motion on roller coasters, and can be used to determine relative acceleration, orientation, and altitude. All recorded data can be exported in an e-mail or to Google Drive as a .txt attachment with comma separated values (csv).

Permissions Explained:

android.permission.WAKE_LOCK: Used to keep the device awake only when recording accelerometer data to csv. (Example: After pushing the record button, the app will continue to collect data even when placed in a pocket during a roller coaster ride, and will turn off only after data recording has been stopped.)

android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: A csv file is created and modified on the phone's internal memory.

3 ★Seems like a great tool for analyzing acceleration, angular acceleration, and altitude. Unfortunately, it does not run with the phone's screen off. On a roller-coaster, hard to leave it running with the screen on in your pocket.
