3 ★UPDATE: better now! OLD: Used to be good! I forget what update it was but over the last month or so the app has gone downhill way beyond belief. Like others are saying (both here & App Store) you have to log in every single time (sometimes multiple times a day) you try to use anything outside of the little snippets it let's you see. It wasn't always like this, I used to have to log in maybe once or twice a semester. Go back to the old pulse where it wasn't such a headache! Only plus is no ads!
1 ★Very poor design for exam taking. The submit button is right near the "next" button for the next question and I know myself as well as a number of my classmates have accidentally hit the submit button instead of next in the middle of an exam. So we lost points and were not able to retake it. Also, you should be able to go back to previous questions. Poor design.
4 ★App works as intended. Hard to move around unless you've took some time to figure it out. 2 issues I found is when I get a notification. If I had the app opened previously and I tap the notice the app will open to what I was in previously not in the notification like an announcement or grade. And for looking at new grades, I have to constantly "swipe for grade" to see my grade without going into the rubric. The grade shows up but I just have to swipe several times
5 ★My school uses the D2L in Brightspace and it's really easy to navigate. I only wish the app acted like an app and not a web api. Notifications f iui r due assignments would be nice. Quizzed within the app would be helpful. Can there be an easier to access your email, discussions and chat within the app and not just the website? I think it would be more functional, versatile, and more intuitive that way. Can Other than that, it's a good place to access Assignments and documents for my classes.
4 ★So far, I've loved this app. Having mobile access helps me clear up my workspace when I'm not at my desk, as I like to sit out in my screened back porch when it's nice out. The app having dark mode is great, since the stark white default easily fatigues my eyes. The UI and content layout feel intuitive and flow smoothly. My only issue is that I've been prompted to log back in, but am never redirected to my browser, so I get the wheel of death. It's fixed by clearing data, then un/reinstalling.
3 ★I thought this app would make looking at assignments a lot easier. But that's not the truth unfortunately. I can't upload jpeg files straight from my phone so I have to email myself the files and waste time doing it on my laptop. Also i can't enlarge the videos my teachers post, even when I turn my phone to landscape. I want to like this app but I can't. It's only usable on laptops or on my phones actual browser and that defeats the purpose of the app to be honest 😒
5 ★I love the accessibility in advance of use of the app while on the go. It at times is slow and freezes but other than that it works beautifully in my crazy life of working and being a full time student. I love that I get notifications when anything is updated or changed, grades, emails, truly everything and I LOVE THAT I CAN SEE WHATS DUE for all of my classes! OMG that is a life saver.
2 ★Provides zero resources for instructors. Is the bare minimum app for accessing lecture slides as a student and even then, I couldn't open the one file I tried to view. Would be nice to have something I can use to grade students on the fly, as well as access my own course work but it doesn't do either really. Not sure what the point of the app is - I can just log in to D2L on Chrome and do way more.
1 ★I wish that the notifications worked well. Also, I'm so disappointed that you cannot receive notifications for discussions. Their should be a builtIn browser or a way to continue using this app while looking at notifications, when you click on any notifications or discussions, it will open a browser and take you to the actual web page. It's fine but no where near great because the web page is not meant for mobile phones So the sizing is really bad. The app itself should be accessing the d2l page
3 ★Helps organize my chaos. ALTHOUGH!!! I would really love if it had the option to sync with my Google Calendar 😏 please. I'm using too many different Calendars, all with their own purposes but if everyone could have the option to sync! That would be great. I use my Google calendar more. It would so easier if it could sync vs me having to manually add everything
4 ★Pulse is fairly convenient as another reviewer said. It is convenient for when you don't want to go online and check for current notifications or grades. With the app you get notifications on current test grades, new assignment, online quizzes and much more. However, there are times in which I don't get notifications through the app; and therefore, I gave it four stars.
1 ★They ruined the single only good thing about the app, the fact that you don't have to go through their tedious, unnecessary login page every single time you want to view anything. They removed that. Now sign in is required every time. This app is worthless, might as well use the website, both are fighting to waste the most of your time, whichever you pick is irrelevant.
