O Esporte Clube Iranduba da Amazônia foi fundado em 18 de janeiro de 2011. O grupo de sócio-fundadores é composto por: Amarildo Dutra, Oséias Lima, Emerson Sampaio, Aldenir Kniphoff, Edu Lima, Wellison Leão, Juarildo Muniz, Luís Carlos Castro, Cláudio Taffarel e Paulo Roberto.A ideia do grupo de esportistas era implantar uma gestão profissional do futebol e desenvolver o esporte local. O objetivo inicial era que o clube fosse sediado em Manaus. Porém, os associados tiveram um problema em uma das exigências no caderno de encargos para clubes profissionais: o estádio.
Na época, os estádios de Manaus viraram canteiros de obras para a realização da Copa do Mundo em 2014 e, por isso, nenhum deles poderia ser indicado para receber partidas oficiais. A diretoria resolveu então optar pelo município de Iranduba (a 20 quilômetros de Manaus) para mandar seus jogos no estádio municipal Álvaro Maranhão. Dois meses depois, o clube foi federado na Federação Amazonense de Futebol e na Confederação Brasileira de Futebol.
