4.2 Car Mode Patch APK Download for Android

Description

This is a patch that restores the Home button override for CarHome Ultra while your Android 4.2.x phone is in Car Mode.

Requirements:
1) You must have CarHome Ultra installed

It works with standard and alternative Android home launcher apps and Car Home Ultra.

After installing the app, press Home and then select this app as the default home screen app.

One issue with this patch is that the Home button will no longer center the default home screen. I do not anticipate having a fix for this.

Please bare in mind that this is a patch. The issue can only be correctly fixed by Google with an update to Android.

5 ★Google decided to remove the code that allows the home button override in jellybean so the home to carhome ultra was basically removed. At least until this patch came out! Just install, launch carhome ultra, press home to set carhome as default, exit to homescreen and it will ask you what launcher you want. I use Nova and was able to choose it and everything works perfect. Thanks thespinninghead for this patch!

4 ★This app does what it says with my GNex 4.2.2 with the stock launcher. My only complaint is that it does not completely follow the home button's original behavior. If you were already on the home screen and you hit the home button, it would move you to your default page on your home screen - the app does not do that. Please consider adding this! Would be worth 5 stars if this functionality was included.

5 ★Works perfect for me using Nexus 4 + 4.2.2 + Apex launcher + tasker. I believe some people just don't understand how it is meant to work.

5 ★Previously this app didn't work for me because I use adw launcher. The latest update let's you select the right launcher and now works properly. The only thing you lose is home button function when the launcher is displayed.

4 ★This works on my Nexus 4. It is a little bit weird to have to have a different launcher than stock but since this was removed with Jelly Bean, this is the best option to get car mode to work normal again.

3 ★Now works with Nova launcher but breaks the Nova feature where pressing the home key twice opens the apps view.

3 ★Breaks the default launcher's funcionality that takes you the main tab if you press home a second time.

5 ★Works as described. Hopefully Google restores that functionality so this patch is no longer necessary, though.
