Description
Andoku Capture lets you capture Sudoku puzzles from books or newspapers using the camera of your device.As a standalone app Andoku Capture can be used as a simple puzzle solver. Once the puzzle is captured the solution can be revealed by pressing a button.
This app is primarily intended as an add-on for Sudoku: Andoku 3 Free though. Puzzles can seamlessly be imported, saved and played inside Andoku 3. This allows you to utilize the full feature set of Andoku 3 such as unlimited undo and redo or hints.
Standalone mode
Start the app and point the camera on a printed Sudoku puzzle. Wait for a couple of seconds for the puzzle to be recognized automatically.
As an add-on for Andoku 3
Open Andoku 3, navigate to "Custom puzzles" and press the add (+) button to open the puzzle editor. Now press the camera icon in the toolbar to capture a puzzle. Once the puzzle has been captured it can be saved and played on your device.
Notes
1. If the puzzles does not get recognized automatically after a couple of seconds that means that Andoku Capture has difficulties recognizing the puzzle. You can press the "Capture now" button to capture what is currently shown in the small preview but the result will most likely not be correct. When capturing from Andoku 3 you can use the puzzle editor to manually correct any errors later.
2. For a puzzle to be recognized automatically it has to have a unique solution. Invalid puzzles or puzzles with more than one solution won't be captured unless you press the "Capture now" button.
3. Capturing works best with blank puzzles. Do not fill in any digits or candidates before capturing it.
4. Andoku Capture does not automatically recognize any Sudoku variants. In standalone mode it assumes the puzzle is a regular Sudoku puzzle. It cannot be used to capture any other kinds of puzzles such as Sudoku X or Hyper Sudoku. When used as an add-on for Andoku 3 the game variation has to be selected from the toolbar menu before capturing the puzzle.

Download Andoku Capture APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings

1 ★It used to work like a charm earlier but now I don't know what happened It's not working properly. I can see that it has picked up all the numbers on the left small box but still not giving me the solution.. And if I click capture, it just shows incomplete
2 ★Reinstalled. Still exits on Hudl after showing capture page. If lens is initially obscured (e.g. with cover) the page remains (showing black image). As lens is uncovered and partial image appears, the app exits. Hudl takes photos ok. Plenty free ram. Works fine on friend's Moto & S7 edge.
5 ★It was surprisingly; quick, easy, & excellent. Installed (using Win10 PC-Wireless 50Mb Broadband cable) for Motog3 2015 UK, 1GB RAM using Lollipop 5.1.1: Installed Andoku Capture, already had Andoku 3 installed. Probably, opened Andoku 3 > Custom Puzzle - Then press the +. - The camera is displayed at the top of the phone which is pressed. - I then pointed it to a blank puzzle in a SPC's book and surprisingly within less than about one second, the puzzle was scanned & I could see it on my phone. - NB! Must then press the SD card icon (top right) to save the puzzle. It is best to give it a title also: I, first place the date; then a :, then a space abbreviated the name of the book SPC & No:, followed by an hyphen & the puzzle number: Eg 3/4/2017: SPC83 - 87. - completed the puzzle but then had problem finding it & the result again - together with a second 2/3 puzzle: Eg 3/4/2017: SPC83 - 88 - Probably found the puzzle (s) by swiping the headline to the left.- author will have to make it more user friendly. The + should be replaced with a camera icon, probably at the top of the phone.
4 ★Diese App macht was sie soll, sie erkennt zu 98% immer die Zahlen und zeigt mir danach die Lösung an. Allerdings hätte ich 2 Verbesserungen zum Vorschlag, die erste wäre das man Zahlen auch manuell ändern oder einfügen kann, die die Kamera nicht oder falsch erkannt hat und eine Möglichkeit das Sudoku in der App zu lösen, sprich nicht nur die Lösung anzeigen zu lassen sondern auch zu rätseln. Vielleicht ist es ja möglich. Ok ist bereits alles möglich. Danke für die Antwort!

5 ★Works perfectly on my Galaxy S3. Scans accurately and imports into Andoku 3 like a dream. The scan works rapidly and accurately auto detects boundaries. Well recommended.
4 ★Andoku is great. The Beta did not work well on my Galaxy S7. [updated] But the author's support was superb and the current release works without a hitch. 5 stars for support, 4 stars for the plugin.

5 ★Used this app to capture directly from paper and it works briliantly, indicating when the table recorded is a unique solution one. Ocr part still needs improvement, but i enjoy it even at this beta version. I use it on my Galaxy S5, and unfortunately, the app cannot installed on my Samsung T310 7" tablet although it does have a camera... .
4 ★Hmmm...I think something has changed, and not for the better. Or is it that my smartphone camera software has changed? Previously, I almost had to take no real care and this app would correctly read the numbers in a newspaper Sudoku, to allow me to upload into Andoku 3 and play in that app (or.even get app to solve). Now, the number recognition is far from reliable (on 2 very different phones) capturing puzzles for which there isn't a single solution. But that's because the numbers aren't being correctly recognised on either phone. All a bit frustrating.
4 ★After installing the app, i had to approve access to my camera. Approval made my Samsung Galaxy Note4 reboot. After that, the App worked as promised. Taking the picture goes (a bit too) fast but the result is very good. Then you can (only) select to see (or hide) the solution. Although a lot of people look for just that, I am not. Sorry.
