With the Hreyfill Taxi app on your Smartphone, you can quickly and easily book a taxi - skipping any telephone queues
Hreyfill Taxi receives orders in the Reykjavik and Reykjanes area.

The app automatically finds your current location with the Smartphone GPS.
You can pre-book up to one week in advance.
You can also indicate whether you want a regular-sized taxi or if you have excess baggage, you can order a larger taxi.

If you enter your phone number, the driver can send you SMS notifying when the taxi arrives.

4 ★It is a great way to order your taxi, it comes on times, the notifications are great. Maybe have an option pf inserting an international phone number or an email address without having to create an account.

2 ★So close for foreign visitors just not quite there.. English language version, which is good. Finds where you are or let's you pick a point on a map, perfect for tourists that don't know where they are or can't pronounce a place name. Only problem is it limits phone numbers to 8 digits, useless unless you have an Icelandic number! And you can't request a taxi unless you enter your number. Major fail at the final hurdle.

5 ★Very convenient! App is a bit buggy (kept stating that payment method was cash which I didn't have, kept blanking out my details when I switched between app and email) but I'm used to Uber and terrified of mangling the pronunciation of street names so being able to type it out gives me some peace of mind.

5 ★Worked well enough for us, determines your location with gps. It does have you enter a phone number which American numbers won't fit but it doesn't seem to matter. Regardless, we got a ride to and from Reykjavík without any issues, even at 3am.
