Bei dem IGA-Guide Berlin handelt es sich um ein vom Land Berlin kostenlos zur Verfügung gestelltes Leit- und Informationssystem für das Gelände der Internationalen Gartenausstellung 2017 in Berlin Marzahn-Hellersdorf.Der IGA-Guide Berlin bietet allen Besucher*innen der Ausstellung die Möglichkeit, sich vollständig barrierefrei über das gesamte Gelände routen und navigieren zu lassen. Egal ob Blind, eingeschränkt Sehend, als Rollstuhlfahrer oder Sehend, es wird immer die für die Bedürfnisse bzw. Wüsche optimale Route zum gewünschten Ziel vorgeschlagen. Dabei kann man zusätzlich zu den mobilitätsbedingen Anforderungen auch noch zwischen einer „schnellen“ und einer „attraktiven“ Route wählen.
Zusätzlich wird die Möglichkeit geboten sich über den Button „Führe mich zu“ schnellst möglich zum nächst gelegenen Informationspunkt, der Ersten Hilfe oder einem WC leiten zu lassen.
Darüber hinaus bietet die App die Möglichkeit, sich durch die Nutzung der Funktion „Touren“ auf vordefinierten Strecken führen zu lassen. Unterschieden wird hier zwischen einer kurzen und einer langen Tour sowie einer „Tour der Sinne“, welche speziell für Sehbehinderte und Blinde entworfen aber selbstverständlich von jedem Gast mit Freude genutzt werden darf. Zusätzlich wird Blinden und Sehbehinderten der Service geboten sich durch den Button „Wo bin ich“ den aktuellen Standort ansagen zu lassen. Als Orientierungshilfe werden den hier POIs (Points of Interests) im direkten Umfeld genannt.
Als ein besonderes Highlight ist in die App ein flächendeckender Informationsguide (genannt Audioguide) integriert worden. Hierfür wurden auf dem gesamten IGA Gelände Markierungen gesetzt, welche es erlauben zu fast 100 Höhepunkten Informationen in Form von Sprachnachrichten auf dem Handy zu erhalten. So hat der Besucher die einzigartige Möglichkeit sich vollkommen dem „MEHR aus Farben“ hinzugeben und trotzdem keine Inhalte zu Bepflanzung, Architektur und Gestaltung zu verpassen.
