Description

Photo Friend is a no-frills exposure calculator app, for photographers and movie makers that know their way. The app can also work as light meter by using the phone camera or the light sensor. The calculator can estimate depth-of-field, too.

Highlight features:

* Easy and intuitive exposure calculator. No typing, no configurations! Just drag each gauge to the desired value. The other meters move to make good exposure.

* Reflected light meter. If your phone has a camera and you grant access, a viewfinder is shown on the main screen. Point to the subject and touch the viewfinder to take a picture. The EV will be estimated based on the picture.

* Incident light meter. If your phone has a light sensor, the illuminance in lux is shown, and the estimated EV. Touch the viewfinder area to transport EV to the respective calculator gauge.

* Easy-to-use depth-of-field calculator. Just dial aperture, focal length and subject distance. DoF is expressed as numbers and graphically. Distance unit and DoF parameters can be tweaked at Settings.

Photo Friend is a free app with in-app purchase of ad-free mode.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★App is fantastic, straightforward and easy way to use my phone as a light meter and calculate shutter speed and aperture for my film camera. The sliders are extremely intuitive and quick, exactly the app I was looking for after trying a couple other popular ones and being disappointed.
1 ★The app has some promise, but it is a long way from being usable. One needs to be able to *set* chosen parameters (e.g. ISO, apperture) and have the app calculate the unset one or, if all are set, show the resulting under/over-exposed image. Also, the ads are FAR too intrusive. I would strongly suggest the developer remove the ads completely until the app is a lot more polished.
4 ★It is very hard for me to find out how much does the app actually cost (Android version), and what are the buying conditions. I use the app, I like it and I would buy it, but not blindly. I give it only four stars because of insufficient information.
4 ★I bought this to help me with an vintage Zeiss 6X9 camera. The application is great. I would suggest that being able to lock ISO and Focal Length would be much help to those using film cameras and / or prime lenses. That would be a 5+ Star application, especially given the very reasonable price. I also have an observation, when I set my 6X9 format and check 35mm equivalent the focal length and equivalent display the same value.
5 ★The new update forces me to get online to use it . Very bad move. Just updated now. Beautiful, the was it was. 5 Stars now.
1 ★Nags to upgrade almost every tap of the screen. Not a 'friendly' Friend at all. Also, not so good an interface. David Quiles' light meter app is more useful and looks like a real world light meter, makes it easier to go between real light meters and his app.
5 ★Has depth of field feature!!!
4 ★please add option to lock multiple settings. Otherwise the app is really good
5 ★I tried allmost all lightmeter apps and this is the best one
3 ★Great app.. very useful But would good to be able to lock multiple settings.. I'm trying use this to select the correct nd filter for a gopro .. which has a fixed aperture of 2.8 and iso set to 100.. I'd like to lock these settings and shutter at around 1/120 so that it shows the correct nd filter to use. Also, what sensor size should be selected for a gopro? I has a sensor size of 1/2.3 inch.. I don't think app has this as an option?
