Sistem Informasi BATARA (Badung Tata Ruang) dikembangkan oleh Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (PUPR) Kabupaten Badung bertujuan untuk mempermudah masyarakat dalam memperoleh informasi terkait dengan Penataan dan Pemanfaatan Ruang di Wilayah Kabupaten Badung. Sebelum adanya inovasi BATARA, masyarakat atau investor yang ingin mencari informasi terkait penataan dan pemanfaatan ruang harus datang langsung ke kantor Dinas PUPR Kab. Badung untuk melakukan konsultasi dengan petugas secara tatap muka sehingga pelayanan menjadi tidak efisien. Keterbatasan informasi yang diakses membuat masyarakat kesulitan dalam mengetahui informasi terkait tanah, rencana tata ruang, dan pemanfaatan ruang di Kabupaten Badung. Berdasarkan alasan tersebut, Dinas PUPR Kab. Badung mengembangkan inovasi BATARA untuk memudahkan masyarakat dalam mengakses informasi terkait penataan dan pemanfaatan ruang secara online.Terdapat beberapa fitur utama pada aplikasi BATARA diantaranya yaitu fitur pengecekan informasi bidang tanah, fitur peta RDTR (Rencana Detail Tata Ruang) dan RTRW (Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah) Digital, fitur pengecekan informasi kegiatan pemanfaatan ruang dan fitur informasi dokumen pemanfaatan ruang. Selain sebagai sarana informasi bagi masyarakat umum, BATARA juga merupakan sistem informasi yang sangat berguna bagi investor untuk berinvestasi di Kabupaten Badung dengan harapan dapat mendorong penciptaan iklim investasi yang lebih baik di Kabupaten Badung yang pada akhirnya akan mempercepat pertumbuhan ekonomi daerah.
