Emoncms is an open-source web application for processing, logging and visualising energy, temperature and other environmental data developed as part of the http://openenergymonitor.org project.

OpenEnergyMonitor is a project to develop open-source energy monitoring tools to help us relate to our use of energy, our energy systems and the challenge of sustainable energy.

Note: MyElectric graphs (as used in Android app) only work with PHPFINA feeds and incrementing Power to kWh feeds NOT daily kWh/d or MYSQL feeds. Please check to see if MyElectric graph works for your feeds in web version of Emoncms before using in the Android app.

How to install Emoncms APK on Android phone or tablet?

Download Emoncms APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:

Update Phone Settings

Go to your phone Settings page
Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
Check the Unknown Sources box
Confirm with OK

Go to Downloads

Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
Tap the APK file you downloaded (org.emoncms.myapps-v2.3.3-ApkClean.apk)
Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

2 ★It's nice, but can only monitor wind and energy. Since I use emoncms to monitor temperatures and humidity as well, it would have been nice to be able to monitor those graphs from my mobile phone too.

3 ★Works fine without crashing but either has the My Solar hidden somewhere impossible to find or its missing entirely from the app. I can't imagine why that would be missing.

3 ★Data extraction is okay but graph presentation needs works. On my Samsung S6, the top "Power now" headers overlap and bottom graph axis is cut off. Cost calculation fails to account for new install, my cost is -ve.

4 ★Great way to view real time energy usage, and works faultlessly. The app makes good use of mobile gestures such as pinching in & out and dragging to zoom into the realtime graph, making it really easy to select different timeframes. It's worth 5 stars, but I'll hold back on one - just so I can add it later when 'My Solar' is added - if it's as good as the work done so far. Paul
