Description

Take part in the UK’s annual Big Butterfly Count with this easy to use and informative app.

Spend 15 minutes in nature and help butterflies at the same time. All you need to do is identify and count the relevant butterfly and moth species you spot. Then submit your sightings to help take the pulse of nature. Your records help to show how butterflies are faring in the UK.

The app features a beautiful ID guide to help you identify and learn about the 21 species that are the focus of this study. You can also view all of your submitted counts and see everyone's records on the map within the app.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

1 ★The images on the app do not show enough detail to easily identify the butterflies. Closed wings and size would help and the option to open a larger image.
4 ★easy to use but it would have been useful to know how many pages of butterflies there were and if you lost data when moving between screens
2 ★Doesn't retain settings like login & location, have to re-enter all the details every time. Unable to close the app when finished.
2 ★Start a count, take a photo and your session isn't saved. Given most butterflies are fast moving an unsure (brown or white) option would be useful
5 ★easy to follow and join in. it's a real eye opener how few butterflies , insects and garden life there is. we can all do something, even if its joining in the big butterfly count and share what you find.
5 ★Easy to use would be great for children to recognise more butterflies and encourage them to think about the butterflies we have in the UK.
5 ★top idea. our garden is only 6yrs old and we have focussed on bees, butterflies and pond life. we are at about 1200ft on the N.E. side of Titterstone Clee within the Shropshire Hills AONB. Good luck.
1 ★this app will not let me enter a site description so cannot be used on my Samsung j5 android phone. This is annoying as I am seeing lots of butterflies. Can you fix it?
4 ★It's quite basic and I had a lot of difficulty dragging the pointer on the map to show where the sighting happened.
4 ★I would prefer to go straight into recording the butterflies and do all the info. bit afterwards - the butterflies don't wait while you fill in the first bit!
5 ★First time I've taken part. Think it's a great idea to encourage people of all ages to pay attention to the health of the garden and what to plant to attract / feed butterflies and bees whose numbers have been dwindling. 21 butterflies in my town garden this morn ..think buddleia and scabiosa are the big attraction.
5 ★Really excellent. Lots of fun and the chance to learn so much about butterflies. Enjoying it.
