- Manual bookmarks
- Separate buttons for ffwd./rewind witch configurable timespan
- Go to given position in track (time entry dialog)

- List of started but unfinished tracks (in bookmark dialog)
- Playlist support: Reads m3u, m3u8, pls, and asx; writes m3u and m3u8; allows adding files outside of main directory; easy access to playlists in main folder and subdirectories
- Ignores .nomedia (you set the directory, should be fine - right?)

- Alarm clock
- Swipe gestures
- Selectable layouts (so far only default, car, and big cover) and themes
- Selectable backgrounds (theme color, own images, or wallpapers - even Live Wallpapers)
- Delete and send files
- Supports equalizer, bass boost, and reverb on devices with Android 2.3
- and some more, just check the preferences...

Used permissions:
Phone state: Used to pause during a call. Otherwise it would only be muted by the system.
Wake lock: So the playback isn't stopped when you turn off the screen. Also for some optional features like disabling the auto screen off during playback.
Disable keyguard: In case you only want to use the app's lock screen. (And not return to the default one afterwards.)
Write/delete external storage: For some internal files in \.MortPlayer, e.g. cached folder covers from ID3 tags and track order lists.
Internet: Ads (AdMob)
Boot completed: To reschedule the alarm clock after boot.
Tasks: For "StopService" activity, to avoid the system returns to player afterwards

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

2 ★Very good - IF it works. It's OK on my tablet (Android 7.) On my phone, Android 9, the sound disappears after a few operations and won't return until the app is restarted. I don't think the app is supported any more which is a pity.
4 ★Dear Mirko, thanks for great app, I use it every day to make my eyes rest. Could you please add a history of last played files? Sometimes I switch between books, append downloaded content in file manager for the book and reload a folder so context is lost. Since there is no bookmark I need to find the right file to continue listening where I stopped last time which takes quite a lot of time.
5 ★Great app, many different features that can be enabled from the settings. Requires some fiddling to make it what you want, but once you set it up it's perfect. Many customization options, and it even stops the book when you get a notification or even directions in a GPS app.
1 ★Sadly it's crashing. I'll give the developers 1 month to fix then I'm done with mort.
5 ★I've been using this app for years for audiobook playback. Yes, the UI is dated, but it's feature-rich, and free. It doesn't annoy with advertising, and it works flawlessly, provided you take the time to learn how to use it properly.
5 ★Works Great! Could use a volume boost and reset audio output when bluetooth turned off so it will switch back to speaker output when bt headphones disconnected and play pressed...but still way better than any other book player I have used. Thanls for the great player!
1 ★Firstly, I was warned that this was for an older version of Android (I'm using Pie), but I tried it anyway. Secondly, it couldn't navigate to my SD card, where I keep all my books. So, unfortunately useless for me, which is a shame as it looked good.
3 ★Lacks basic features like playback speed and the interface is confusing, clunky, and ugly. App works well otherwise, but I'll be switching to a different app that is easier to use and has playback speed controls.
5 ★MortPlayer is probably the only audio book player that is able to keep your structure of folders, so it does not mix them all together. You can navigate, pause, keep track, bookmarks, etc. Everything you need in an audio book player.
1 ★Keeps crashing on p30 Pro. Not finding files on folder scan.
5 ★Perfect for books, also can use it for music. Have a bit of trouble getting it to reread catalog when I upload stuff on new phone. I have it set toread each timeI open the app. Doesn't do it. Need to restart phone.
5 ★Very nice audio book app, works great with all of my audio book files, best feature is remembering where you stopped listening & starting again from that same place, which in a 3hr file is very useful. Thanks for all your hard work.
