Description
En 1973, en el Hotel Alaska de Alsasua, y en el transcurso de diversas conversaciones entre los responsables de distintas Agrupaciones Fotográficas del País Vasco sobre una hipotética Federación, surgió la idea y fue convocado el PRIMER TROFEO ARGIZAIOLA.La principal característica de este certamen fotográfico era que se realizaba con las fotografías previamente clasificadas en los siguientes concursos y posteriormente se exponía en diferentes localidades de nuestra geografía:
* Concurso fotográfico SAN PRUDENCIO, del Consejo de Cultura de la Diputación Foral de Álava.
* MEMORIAL MARQUES DE ROCAVERDE, de la Sociedad Fotográfica de Gipuzkoa.
* MEMORIAL NICOLAS ARDANAZ, de la Agrupación Fotográfica y Cinematográfica de Navarra.
* QUINCENA VIZCAINA, del Vizcaya Club Cine Foto.
Aquellos momentos propicios para nuestro asociacionismo fotográfico dieron por fin resultado en 1978, con el nacimiento de la FEDERACIÓN DE AGRUPACIONES FOTOGRÁFICAS DEL PAÍS VASCO, y posteriormente con la CONFEDERACIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE FOTOGRAFÍA, impulsada así mismo desde el País Vasco.
El Trofeo ARGIZAIOLA fue durante años el máximo exponente de la concursística vasca, pero al decaer el mismo, cuando menos el concepto en que estaba basado, cayó en un pequeño paréntesis, para volver con renovada fuerza en el año 1995. En la última edición los concursos que han sido clasificatorios para el ARGIZAIOLA son:
* Lux Splendida (Vitoria-Gasteiz)
* Kirol Argazki Lehiaketa (Bergara)
* Trofeo Gipuzkoa Internacional (Donostia)
* Legazpi Hiria (Legazpi)
* Tolosa Herria (Tolosa)
* Indalecio Ojanguren (Eibar)
* Photoka (Gernika)
* Ciudad de Irún (Irún)
* Igartza Saria (Beasain)
* Nikolas Lekuona (Ordizia)
* Zumaiako Argazki Lehiaketa (Zumaia)
* Ramón Serrás (Zarautz)
Si en la primera época del Certamen ARGIZAIOLA eran las fotografías las que se clasificaban para la fase final, ahora son los fotógrafos premiados en los concursos base quienes reciben una invitación a participar, y lo hacen con absoluta libertad temática.
Hasta el año 2018 los resultados de cada edición se han publicado en CD-ROM, pero ahora (desde el trofeo 39) se editan en USB y cada una de ellas es descargable como app gratuita para móvil (tanto para Android como para dispositivos de Apple).
Para descargar cada una de ellas sólo hay que buscarla con el nombre que hacen referencia a su número de edición: «Argizaiola 38», «Argizaiola 39», «Argizaiola 40» y «Argizaiola 41».
