Discover the Big History of the beautiful Ossola Valley in Italy in this student-made app.We offer you an insight into the 2-year long work of 25 Italian students, using App Inventor 2 to create an application that lets anyone experience the history of the Ossola Valley in a multi-disciplinary view that includes aspects of geology, arts and history.
All the products present in this application are designed using the structure of the Big History Project. The idea of the Big History Project is to present the whole of history as a single continuum, without the typical segmentation. Applying this idea to the Ossola Valley means observing it since its geological birth, through time and history until today. To achieve this we analyze the history of the valley in different time frames, namely 10^9 years ago, 10^5 years ago, all the way through 10^3, 10^2, 10^1 years ago.
