With ParentSquare for Android, parents can easily connect with teachers and staff at their children’s school from their Android device. The app allows parents to:
- View posts, appreciate and comment
- Sign up for wish list items, volunteer, and RSVP and view your sign ups
- Check dates for upcoming school and class events and add them to your device calendar
- Send private messages (with attachments) to staff members (or other ParentSquare users*) in your school
- Participate in group conversations

4 ★The app is nice to communicate with staff & receive info & updates from school. However, I find that it is difficult to refer back to messages, because it gets cluttered without an option the delete messages (posts) that are not applicable or relevant to my child. Therefore, it gets only ⭐⭐⭐⭐. This dramatically effects my use of this app. Otherwise, a great tool!
3 ★I could give it one more star if they corrected each of these: 1. I cannot tell if a parent has opened a private message (as compared to a class post). This is a major problem. Class Dojo (which I used last year) provided that. I'm not allowed to use it this year. PLEASE FIX! 2. Attaching documents from Google Drive is not user-friendly. Items appear in whatever order Parent Square uses (not most recent) AND there is no search option that I have found to search my Drive (not search the Web).
1 ★The app used to work and was very useful. However, the recent updates have made the app constantly crash. I no longer get notifications, even after adjusting the settings on my phone. Every time you try to view any images, you get a pop-up saying that the app isn't responding. It's very annoying and isn't very useful anymore. I've missed messages and announcements from the school due to no longer getting notifications. Not cool... please fix it!!!
3 ★We love ParentSquare but the app for Android continues to disappoint, especially since the issues don't affect iOS. Current issue is that you can't attach videos to a message. You can receive them from your iOS counterparts though! Also, you can only attach one photo at a time from the gallery, but in iOS you can select multiple images at the same time. Thanks for fixing stability issues at least!
5 ★I have a brand new kiddo in middle school that I honestly was super anxious about sending this fall, but this app allows her teachers to send me updates and messages easier. I also love it as a parent because I have the ability to make sure my daughter is doing her work. I also am able to see all her classes and what time she's taking those classes. This app is very convenient.
1 ★Wayyyy to many notifications. I changed the settings to only get an email daily and not get constant notifications but I'm still getting flooded with emails and notifications on my phone. Good app other than that. EDIT-- Even after selecting said digest option, I get 6 emails a day, and notifications at every single post. 1 at the end of the day would be fine, but this is overkill. Parents have more to do than read posts 24/7.
1 ★Website doesn't show new messages unless you manually refresh the web page which is insane for a messaging app. I've also had problems switching from one convo to the next and sending a message to the current convo and recipient displayed on screen, only to have the app send the message to the wrong recipient. Notifications on the phone app do not clear in in the app after they are read unless you clear them from your phone notifications. Horrible
1 ★I have had the worst experience with this app, it does not work at all! I've been told they're trying to figure out the problem...but now it's been over a month into the school year and going into snow season (School notifies via app -which I won't get!) So it's just absolutely garbage and actually worse than if it didn't exist at all. Extremely frustrating!!!
3 ★So far parent square seems ok , I'm just having trouble locating messages/announcements from our school , they show up on my phone for me to read, but if I want to go back and look at it again there is nothing available to read , I'm signed in and have clicked under everything but , still can not find the message to read again. I will continue exploring this app more.
1 ★To many problems with this app. Which they have fix yet, so I changed my review from 2 ⭐ to 1. Open app message don't show. Most of the time it tell me I'm not authorize. Teacher message don't show up. I can go on on. And as of 10/5/2020 They still have not fix problems if I go into the app for messages it only show up as me send the message it doesn’t turn off until I refresh it like 3 times. 2 notice take a long time to come up.
2 ★Multiple copies of my account required to verify. Verification code box right on top of resend code button. Confirm should be next interface instead. Overall, bit bulky to navigate and I don't see any actual benefit to the system over email, especially considering you lose message history with previous teachers and cannot CC other parent in communications. Email would be better.
5 ★I dont know why so many people are having issues. Im able to set my notifications easily. Great way to stay in contact with teachers during the pandemic. If you know your way around a computer/phone then you shouldn't have issues setting up notifications. Only thing thats out of your hands is how often the school sends out alerts. So if they have someone who doesn't know what their doing, you may get annoyed. Other then that YOU'RE in control. So how are you gonna rate this app 2 stars?
