Uz ovu aplikaciju možete pratiti trenutno stanje kvaliteta zraka u gradovima BiH u kojima postoje automatske stanice za mjerenje zagađujućih materija zraka.Kvalitet zraka je izražen kroz tzv. indeks kvaliteta zraka (IKZ) kojeg je izradio Federalni hidrometeorološki zavod uz konsultacije sa Republičkim hidrometeorološkim zavodom RS. IKZ za Bosnu i Hercegovinu je kreiran po uzoru na indeks kvaliteta zraka Agencije za zaštitu okoliša SAD (US EPA Air Quality Index) uz određene manje izmjene.
IKZ se izračunava na osnovu podataka mjerenja zagađujućih materija PM2.5, PM10, CO, O3, SO2 i NO2. Izražava se brojčanom vrijednošću, bojom i imenom kategorije.
Ovisno od stepena zagađenosti zraka, u aplikaciji su dostupne i kratke informacije o mogućem uticaju na zdravlje ljudi, te savjeti kako se ponašati kada je zrak zagađen.
Podaci se automatski objavljuju sa mjernih stanica i nisu kontrolirani i validirani.
Aplikacija je razvijena u okviru IMPAQ projekta kojeg koordinira Švedska agencija za zaštitu okoliša (SEPA) uz finansijsku podršku Ambasade Švedske.
