Description
The program is developed focusing sanitation workers that provide an essential public service at the cost of their dignity, safety, health, and living conditions. Our vision at World Toilet College is to eliminate inhuman practice of manual scavenging and rehabilitation of sanitation workers. Sanitation workers are main group of front line workers that are highly vulnerable and are at most risk.Objective of the training is to bridge the gap between trainers, mobilizers and students, provide training on sanitation curriculum and facility management, reducing their health risks by proper guidance and training on safety manual, education on prevention against risk at work, eliminating added layer of stigma and discrimination and providing support through skill development curriculum.
Course is designed in simplest and comprehensive manner considering target group and their limitations to language and accessibility. Training will be through simple verbal videos and pictorial presentations with evaluation and feedback through MCQs. All students that will complete certified training will be eligible for placements.
In addition to the existing curriculum of Classroom Training in World Toilet College, digital training will guide sanitation workers at all platforms in ways and means to reduce their health and safety risks. Through course, aim is to provide sanitation workers guidance on usage of protective equipment like gloves, masks, boots etc. to reduce exposure hazards in current scenario and to prepare them for challenges ahead.
