Description

Write Japanese teaches you to draw the Japanese kanji, hiragana, and katakana. It covers the basic kana alphabets, and the first ~2,000 kanji characters. Write Japanese teaches you characters you don't know, reviews your drawing of characters you do know, and dynamically repeats characters you are still learning.

Write Japanese uses a Spaced Repetition system (SRS) to repeat characters you've correctly drawn at timed intervals, to maximize your memorization.

Pre-made character lists are included for all 5 levels of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), and for all levels of the Joyou Kanji, learned by Japanese schoolchildren. You can also create your own custom lists.

This is an Android exclusive software. It contains no advertisements. Hiragana, the Joyou kanji level 1, and the JLPT level N5 are free, while the remaining katakana and kanji require a single, one-time in-app purchase to unlock.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

1 ★It gets stuck on the same character over and over during timed review afterI purchased the full version!
5 ★I love the thoroughness of this app. There are enough settings to helpcustomize the experience to your liking. There's a couple cons however; theapp would greatly benefit from a search feature. Being able to type exactlywhich kanji you'd like to add to a deck would save a lot of time. Whenusing example words as the key, sometimes the words will repeat even thoughthe kanji it wants has changed. Also, to the devs, the first stroke for 貫is incorrect. All in all though, this app has become an essential part inmy Japanese studies. I highly recommend it.
2 ★It does not allow you to choose what you are tested on. Even if you save a specific set of characters and then choose that set, it just goes on as if you hadn't. Totally useless unless you want to bite off the whole thing at once instead of a few at a time in digestible chunks
5 ★It could use some improvement but im going to go for the premium version soon. But what else does the premium version have over the free version. Im currently only learning jlpt5. But it helps alot
4 ★All the strength of this app is being able to leave you own "story" for each Kanji to remember it. Still, I would love to have the exact same writing and "story" features for vocabulary, based on JLPT levels. I feel like I've learned 80 kanjis but I'm missing hundreds of vocabulary words associated with JLPT ! So if vocabulary is added, insta-buy.
4 ★Never knew that we could change the strictness level of the recognition. I changed my review for that. Still there is scope for improvement in case of the recognition system.
1 ★Will change if creator gets back to me Bought this and it won't carry unlock across devices
5 ★The best
4 ★I found this app rather helpful for really getting down a lot of the characters. However, there are a few issues I can't help but notice. The ri hiragana is correct in the images, but it asks you to draw two vertical lines. Also, it appears to be outright missing the wa and wo katakana? Can't tell for sure, as I haven't bought the full version. Although, I will make it clear that this is the first app I've considered buying the full version for.
4 ★Seems like a great program, but I keep getting stuck after completing the last hiragana character I need to test for. The app freezes and I am unable to continue, which...sucks.
4 ★It's easy to handle and good for beginners
4 ★romanizes both ぉ and を as o. And じ and ぢ / ジ and ヂ as ji. A lot of hiragana and katakana writing apps seem to make this mistake but without any clarifation it makes the flash card tests on these characters a guessing game. Recent update says wo was fixed but doesn't seem to be. ヅ and ズ / づ and ず also both are under zu last i checked. Otherwise good app, been great for learning basic kanji. Needs a way to erase or undo strokes but the main reason i left out a star was the confusing kana.
