Description

New forest apps added weekly!

This official app is a portal for exploring the diverse lands and heritage sites managed by the U.S. Forest Service. A powerful exploration tool, this app allows you to discover forests near you and can help you explore each destination's points of interest. Use this app for easy access to forest facts, natural, cultural, and historic information, offline and GPS maps, recreational opportunities, and other essential visitor information to enjoy our National Forests and Grasslands.

The perfect companion for your next forest adventure or armchair travels, each app was
developed by the forest unit’s rangers and interpretive staff and features a variety of content, including educational audio tours and natural and historic imagery. Plan your itinerary of things to see and do with easy access to information regarding recreational opportunities, trails, maps, and visitor centers.

Each forest destination can be downloaded individually from the portal as its own app, allowing you to stay up to date with your favorite destinations through push notifications alerts for closures and events. Connect with Visitor Centers and Ranger Stations using one-tap calling and submit valuable feedback or report concerns with surveys.
OnCell has worked closely with each forest as the official provider of their mobile apps.

You can expect additional forests to be added to this app over time, as the U.S. Forest Service continues it's commitment to provide exciting and relevant visitor information in easy to access formats.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

3 ★Only 3 stars until you have full map coverage of the Tongass Nat'l Forest
2 ★Should I have to download the app first before usage? Is this an official app?
1 ★Sucks, doesn't have my Prescott national forest
5 ★Awesome app!
2 ★Not ready for prime time. It did not recognize my connection to the internet and so they missed out on someone taking their survey. Lot of text but not enough info about fees, facilities, or hours of operation. Plenty of room for improvement.
1 ★Great layout and interface. But it only has a handful of national forests. Manistee-Huron isn't in it, nor are the ones near DC. Can't tell how they included some and not others. The ones that have info just seem to have general descriptions, not enough info to do any trip planning. Should at least link to detailed info online.
1 ★Nantahala (Appalachian Trail), Talladega (Pinhoti Trail), and William Bankhead National Forests are all left out, not to mention just about all of the Southeast. I am uninstalling. Will reinstall if this is ever fixed.
2 ★Disappointed. Not very many listed. Several that im planning to go to arenot on the list. Nantahala, Chattahoochee, etc. The map does list these asnational forests. Please update
1 ★It's f-ing stooped you have to us two fingers to more the map around
1 ★Good idea,.. terrible implementation, there are several forests, some VERY BIG, that are not even included in the data base.
1 ★You don't even have the Huron National Forest in Michigan
1 ★Not useful
