Description

MQTTAlert app is an MQTT client that allows you to monitor your devices for configurable conditions (door open,temperature > x degrees, etc). When the condition is met you will get a phone notification or a phone configurble sound alarm. Each received MQTT message is stored in a local database that can also be exported to csv file for analysis. Analog payloads are also displayed as time series. One can also configure each alert to publish commands depending on the alert status. For example you could publish an MQTT command that switch on a fan when the temperature is higher than a specified value and switch it off when it is below (with configurable hysteresis). Commands can also be published manually from the UI in different formats including images. JSON payloads and published commands are fully supported including nested fields and arrays. Wildcards for topics are fully supported for flexible alerts or messages configuration for multiple devices MsgPack is supported. Dashboard is now available and the app can now integraste some IFTTT events to be linked to alerts.

5 ★This is just a great App for monitoring and controlling devices via MQTT on your phone. It configures nicely and is intuitive to use and test. It exceeded my expectations. I think some of the items still have Chinese symbols in though. I have pointed this out by email to the developers, who seem very responsive!

4 ★Hi! Nice app, but it drops the mqtt connection when the app goes into the background, so you only get alerts if you're looking at the app - not terribly useful. Is there a way around this? Duh - my bad, you're absolutely right! White-listed and running fine! Cheers!

5 ★Changed this to 5 star. Flagged up the issue below and developer messaged me within 30 minutes having updated the app. All works good now. Excellent response. This looks to be an excellent app with unique MQTT alert functionality. Unfortunately, I can not connect to any MQTT broker on this phone - Galaxy S23 with Android 14. This inludes public, open MQTT brokers. I tried the app on another device with an earlier Android version and it worked perfectly. Do your MQTT libraries need updating?

5 ★It's -looks- good but for some reason, I can't connect to my HiveMQ cluster. When I test my connection on the Broker Access Configuration page, an error message eventually pops up that says the connection failed. There seems to be more information in the message but I can't access it. My first rating was so so but I figured out my connectivity issues and I am very pleased. I do wish I could change the size of the graph on the dashboard though.
