Description
In an alternate reality in 1920s Europa, it's been several years since the "Great War", but the ashes of the conflict are still hot and the war is entering a new phase. The first conflict saw the emergence of some incredible engines of war known as Mechs. Built by "The Factory", an independent city-state which has since become the object of everyone's desire, these technological monstrosities roam the snowy landscapes of Europa. Be the hero of one of the five factions – Saxony Empire, Crimean Khanate, Rusviet Union, Polania Republic or Nordic Kingdom – and become the richest and most powerful nation in all of Europa during these dark times! To assure the victory of your people, you will need to explore and conquer new territories, enlist new recruits and deploy your forces by building formidable and terrifying combat Mechs. Replay history in a fictional past full of mechanical engines and technology, where each choice you make will be critical. Choose your battles with care, because in Scythe, victory is achieved with and for the people!Gameplay:
• Asymmetry: every player starts the game with different resources (energy, coins, keen combat sense, popularity…), a different starting location and a secret objective. The starting positions are specifically set to contribute to the uniqueness of every faction and the asymmetrical nature of the game.
• Strategy: Scythe offers players almost complete control over their fate. The only elements of chance apart from each player's individual secrete objective card are the Encounter cards, which players draw to interact with the citizens of newly explored lands. Combat is also handled by way of choice; no luck or chance is involved.
• Engine Building: Players can improve their construction abilities to become more efficient, build structures that improve their position on the map, enlist new recruits into their faction, activate mechs to dissuade opponents from invading and expand their borders to reap greater types and quantities of resources. This aspect creates a feeling of energy and progression over the course of the entire game. The order in which players get to develop their economy and technologies adds to the unique feel of every game, even when playing as the same faction several times.

1 ★I am having the same issue as a lot of people based on the reviews the fact that this game is still doing this after months judging by the reviews is a joke My issue is when the game trys to log into Google Play games and it just loads none stop
1 ★It's buggy. I couldn't read the text on any of the links, making it impossible to even start my first game. A shame, because the board game is epic
3 ★Good port of a great game. I'll give 5 stars once these are fixed: 1. Building bonuses don't work right (e.g. for Neighbor Tunnels, 1 building by 2 tunnels gives $4 instead of $2) 2. Can't know which 6 bottom row upgrades will be available. (E.g., if a mech costs me 4 metal now, what price can I get it down to? 3, 2, or 1?) 3. There's no Undo button for online play. One "mis-tap" can ruin your game. 4. For online play, there's no way to propose a game to a player who isn't currently online.
4 ★Beautiful version of one of my favorite boardgames. Unfortunately there are a few control issues during multiplayer that can really mess you up. Not having any sort of undo, even inside your turn, can easily loose you the game. Clicking a mm off on the screen, will lead you to an unintended move that you can't take back.
3 ★Great game, good adaptation of the real board game, although maybe not as good as the one in steam. However, many of the achievements are broken, like winning with the different factions or achieving the highest tier on buildings. If that was fixed, this game for me would be 5 stars.
3 ★Great game but no way to undo is a fatal flaw. There is little reason to not have a undo button during your turn. If you misclick on a move action you could have cost yourself the game. Another note, there is no deselect on your move action. If you select a unit you are forced to move it. Why?
5 ★Severe flickering on brand new high-end Pixelbook Go, as mentioned in another review. I'll update this review when that gets fixed, but so far I haven't been able to play the actual game. UPDATE: As of the Oct. 12th update, the game now runs perfectly on my Pixelbook Go. Great game!
5 ★Update. Developers fixed the issue! Previous issue. Would be 5 star if this 1 issue gets updated. Love the game. But all characters on play board (map) show only as white figurines, they have no Colored Textures. Like the ones that are shown in the Play Store Video (Youtube). Pease fix and I will update to 5 star. Thank You in Advance.
5 ★Scythe is one of my favorite board games, and the app makes it so convenient to play. I was most impressed by how different the factions and boards are, yet end up quite balanced. The fantastic artwork also deserves special mention.
1 ★Poor implementation of a good game. Asynchronous online games are unplayable as all players need to be present to start the game which defeats the purpose of the mode. This combined with undersized UI buttons and a bland color palette make for a bad game.
3 ★Samsung Galaxy S9 - app regularly locks on load screen requiring a system restart, but once I'm in it's great. The load screen issue had been resolved for weeks but has returned today. I'd forgotten how frustrating this is, but hopefully it will be fixed soon.
5 ★Perfect port. May need some streamlining, but easy to navigate and clean graphics are spot on to the board game.
