1 ★While a lot of good work went into this game, the concept is deeply flawed: strip everything away from a role playing game (story, interesting loot, interesting progression, choices, diversity of locations) and only keep the tactical combat. This would be salvageable if there was a huge variety of maps and enemies, but this is not the case. On the plus side, the animations feel solid... On the minus side: lots of game-breaking bugs. My advice: get the original WarhammerQuest instead.
4 ★I like this game slot. My biggest issue, however, is how long it takes to build characters up. Then, when new "stronger" characters are recruited, they are level 1 and are next to useless unless to start over again from the beginning. This is especially frustrating when the new random character is exactly the same as the guy I have built up, just with a higher max level and more buff slots. If I could just move over everything to the new guy(s), it would make it more rewarding
1 ★Right... final review before I delete it. 1) I've updated the game and it still crashes utterly at random. These crashes make the game unplayable on their own. 2) I can't see any way of easily changing out characters on the party screen. This means that the controls aren't intuitive and there is no in game help on how to perform certain actions. 3) I've heard horror stories about grind and duplication of heroes. I've experienced the grind side of things, made worse by my other issues.
2 ★The core gameplay, the graphics and background are 5*. I installed this on the first day of release and played it addictively for a month or more, reaching player level in the high 20s. Then I realised that this is worst than pay to win, it's pay to be unlucky or play addictively to be unlucky. Unfortunately there are many flaws in the approach to the game, principally in experience, leveling, rewards and most of all the random draw of mediocre new characters, which will take forever to level
3 ★It's a decent game and relatively f2p friendly. However, the battle mechanics are rather boring and missions lack depth. So far, they've mostly been the same. For example, why isn't there a single battle where you have a lot of space instead of these narrow "corridors"?.. there are so many things you could do. I also find rewards from chests underwhelming and boring - even the rare and epic chests are usually mediocre. The game is fairly good, but it definitely has potential to be better.
2 ★Great game till the app freezes and you have to close the app fully and start again loosing all progress. Very frequent. Makes the game unplayable. Above has been fixed. I will edit review if i dont experience the error after playing for a few hours. Another bug: camera issue. Last level, epic chest. Cant play as the camera jumps to under the game board.
3 ★Game controls can be pretty slow and buggy. If you persevere it is a fun tactical game with AI opponents who won't just run at you to their doom. Some actual thinking needed. Heroes haven't learnt any new abilities despite being level 9 dunno if they ever do. So gameplay is no different than when they were all level 2. Feels like no reward for leveling up. And the whole gain a random character thing means out of 6 heroes 3 are the same. With gems hard to come by that's a kick in the teeth.
4 ★I'm critical of mobile games, but I really enjoy this one. I haven't spent any money to speed up progress, but for ftp players it is steady enough I don't feel it's too bad. I'm progressing just fine, slow and steady. The missions are repetitive, but it doesn't bother me too much. There is enough difference that I have to change strategy. Above all, it's fun, so I don't mind the slower progression. Difficulty never climbs to the point you feel you need to dump money into it. I recommend it.
1 ★Sadly this is just terrible. The UI is really unhelpful, I ended up with 2 duplicate heroes (why is there not duplicate protection here ?? You don't need more than one of a hero) the missions are incredibly repetitive as I found myself doing the same levels 2 or sometimes 3 3 times from daily quests. The amount of grind needed to level up is far too high. Looking at the in game store they sell packages of resources for just under £100, this is a shameless cash grab using an amazing IP.
4 ★I like this game. I think it shows potential. It's hard to find a decent warhammer game on android but that's what this is. Decent. I wish it had a semblance of story, some dialogue, plot. You know, substance! As it stands it's just a very repetitive grind of floor after floor. Gameplay is fun though i fear it's not enough to keep a player engaged. Overall i congratulate the devs on their effort and i appreciate it's reasonable in its monetizing scheme. Just needs something, bit more flavour.
3 ★A really well put together game but the progress is far too slow to be engaging. Basically the first day you'll get 3 heroes, the progress is tediously slow so it never feels life any progress is worth it, secondly don't expect to get another hero to try in the first week, there may be loads but never seen them. Together the two problems compound because when you finally do get a new character they are too far behind to practically use anyway.
1 ★Really frustrating. Game play is all good an well pretty simple but a good time killer but the first 3 times I have summoned other champion they have been exactly the same character, a character I already have!! Really annoying and feel like I've been conned as I actually paid to top up summoning stone. Really disappointed,not sure if il put more time into this
