5 ★I really enjoy how easy it is to practice my language skills with this app. I can click on almost any word to get a description plus the articles get translated so I can easily double check my understanding. It's not at all necessary to purchase a subscription since you get so many free to read articles, but I did anyways to avoid ads and support the platform.
5 ★It is nice because the articles are constantly being updated with new material. And the bar on the bottom of each article let's you know how many words/grammar points are at what level. The ability to adjust the voice speed is also helpful. Overall, probably one of the best Japanese reading apps I've discovered.
5 ★So many features, so little time! Such a great all around app for learning and studying Japanese. I love being able to see the difficulty of the word while I'm reading and have quick access to definitions and grammer explanations as well as pronunciation. And to think that's not even half of what this app can do! Upgrading to premium felt like A DEAL!
5 ★It is a wonderful app has a multitude of features you can access for free. It has reading practice from real Japanese news it categorizes by difficulty it also allows for audio playback on the articles. Has furigana to help with Kanji. A section to listen to songs or podcasts to become familiar with the language. Everything you can ask for from an app such as this so many free features. AMAZING!
2 ★I used this in college when I was taking Japanese classes and I loved it. Now, I'm only allowed "10" reads a day which is ridiculously annoying. They're hiding behind a pay wall and in the worst of ways. I can deal with the ads, not having access to more JLPT tests, and other Pay-to-Use features, but this is ridiculous. Taking JLPT tests in landscape mode is frustrating since the ads on the bottom border prevent me from seeing the questions/answers so I have to turn it into portrait mode now.
5 ★App does show translations for kana, but generally not highlighted & you have to press & hold. An excellent free app. Would like more Japan newspapers. We only have (more than similar apps) NHK, Asahi and Chunichi. Last Chunichi article was Nov 2019. People interested in learning Japanese want news coming from Japan. Also Blinkist is a rather mature ad that pops up frequently for a "better sex challenge" and inappropriate. Just had someone lose interest in the app for their child because of it.
5 ★I am bumping this to 5 stars - the developers have added on selection press translation - great job! This is an excellent app for bringing your Japanese study to a new level. The extras such as example sentences, phrase by phrase translation, ability to change audio speed make this an amazing must have tool. Thank you.
5 ★I bought premium months ago and have been using the app for months. I got a new phone, and ads are back. I try to restore purchase, but the UI just says something went wrong. I don't really use it enough to pay for it again. Hopefully the "restore purchase" feature gets fixed .
5 ★keeps asking to upgrade to premium every time we open the app which ironically, makes us want to do the exact opposite. its the user's choice if they want to upgrade...it shouldn't be forced on us. other than that, a beautifully constructed app. color coded words and easy dictionary lookup.
5 ★PERFECT If you're not sure whether or not to get this app,,, get it! Trust me! It has so many features perfect for learning and practicing your Japanese. Best of all, you can use everything in the app for free! It makes me want to buy premium just to support the creators of this app. The UI is very easy to use and appealing, the Kanji lookup is easy (and even has N5-N1 levels underlined), and there's AUDIO for the articles. Update: I bought Premium. It's 50% off and I use this app a lot. I wish there was a desktop app like this too <3 I love it so much thank you guys.
5 ★It's a bit hard to figure out all the features, but this app is great for all the news stories and it offers a lot of news as well. I hope there are more english translations of the newspapers though (as I'm still a beginner in learning japanese), but the furigana and kanji translations are useful too.
5 ★It's incredible, icreased my study efficiency dramatically. Articles that allow your to understand words you've yet to learn, able to turn on and off furigana for reading kanji you can yet pronounce, plenty of kanji with individual word and full sentences examples, even going the extra mile to break them down with and "analysis" button. 10/10 app Fr, though I can't seem to find particles so that kinda sucks
