Cici hidup di lingkungan musik. Ibu mereka adalah penyanyi musik gambus dan qasidah. Saat masih kecil, mereka pernah tergabung dalam grup musik qasidah yang sama.Nama wanita berdarah Gorontalo putri pasangan HM Idris Makmun dan Hj. Rosnaeni ini mulai dikenal berkat lagu "RT.05/RW.03". Dan lagu "Wulan Merindu", semakin melambungkan namanya. Cici memilih dangdut karena musiknya tak jauh beda dengan gambus dan qasidah. Sampai sekarang telah lebih dari 10 album dihasilkan oleh Cici, empat diantaranya adalah album religius. Berbagai penghargaan pun telah diterima, antara lain meraih Anugerah Musik Indonesia (1999). Album-album Cici banyak melibatkan musisi tenar tanah air, seperti album "Candu Asmara" bekerja sama dengan Guruh Soekarnoputra, dan album "Tak Terpisahkan", berkolaborasi dengan Erwin Gutawa.
Selang beberapa lama malang melintang di dunia musik dangdur, Cici mulai jarang tampil di acara on air, tetapi ia lebih sering tampil di acara-acara off air di luar daerah. Selain berkecimpung di musik dangdut, Cici juga sempat terlibat dalam pembuatan lagu-lagu religi.
Saat ini Cici sedang sibuk menggarap proyek musik terbarunya bersama grup musik 3 Kembang bersama Ikke Nurjanah dan Kristina. Grup trio diva dangdut ini resmi dibentuk pada tahun 2011 dan telah berhasil menelurkan single mereka berjudul "Goyang Sayang", karya Anang Hermansyah dan "Kegagalan Cinta", yang merupakan aransemen ulang dari lagu karya Rhoma Irama
